Hi All Last night I was playing on E-Bay and we make an offer on a 2008 XB12XT and guess what, they took it! So long story short, we are in Maryland and our new baby is in Texas. What do I do now? #1 To cold to do a Fly&Drive( wish it was summer) #2 Fly and rent a U-Haul #3 We have a van & a trailer, but would have to take 4 or 5 days off work #4 Find a good shipper So what do you guys think? Are any members in the shipping biz Thanks Bill&Beverly |

Is it a dealer? Ask them if they will.park it in a corner for a month. March might warm up enough to fly down and ride it home |

Yes it is a Dealer but not Buell. When I make my best offer I told them I was out of state so it would take a little time to pick-up. I will talk to them on monday. |

Sounds like a good time to schedule a fly and ride vacation in Texas. March is Springtime down here; come down and enjoy an early spring vacation, maybe head to the coast, Port Aransas or South Padre, then rent a truck and drive home. (Message edited by blake on February 07, 2010) |

Uship.com You post what you have to ship, and how much you are willing to pay. Shippers send you bids for two weeks or so, and then you select the shipper you are comfortable with, make arrangements, and poof! your bike appears at your door. I've shipped a couple of bikes, motors, and a rolling chassis this way. Good luck! |

Fly and ride! If they would wait til the end of April, you could stop in at the "April Buell Days" event on your way home. |

fly and ride! There is not better way to buy a bike. It's not too cold, you just gotta dress for it and watch the weather. Stay south as long as you can, then just fly up north. You could get from deep south to Md. in a day. You'd only be cold one day! |

#3, i drove from MN to RI and back in 2 days for my X1 Millennium. It was 23 hrs each way. Didn't stop except for fuel and a 4 hour nap a a truck stop (would of been at his house at 3 am.) Little over 2600 miles total |

Fly and ride. If the return trip weather gets too cold and wet, or icy, ride as far as you want, then pull into a town and rent a truck from there. Some car rental companies rent pickups, the truck companies have small trucks and cargo vans(that it might fit in). |

Where at in Texas? Maybe someone would pick it up for you an hold it in their garage until you can come out and get it? You pay the gas and I'll drive out there and get it with my truck. Of course, I'm in NM so it's in the wrong direction. My folks live in Manassas, VA, so if you do fly out and ride back, I might ride back with you on my 09XT. |

Worst case, set up a dock-to-dock shipping. We'll receive it for ya at HD/Buell of Frederick, ZIP is 21704 if that helps figure a quote. I'd offer Williamsport...but they don't have a proper dock, or a forklift. www.hdoffrederick.com. |

Yeah, I live in Silver Spring, MD...I wouldn't ride through VA and MD for the next couple weeks - we've had some horrendous snow (fun snow!) the last few days, and more is on the way. I love a good adventure, and am not afraid to take a risk now and then, but I think you might ride it from Texas to a "safe" state, then ship it. The first part of the trip could be a blast! |

If you do some pricing on U-Haul or other rental truck, be prepared for some sticker shock. This option is a little spendy! The Uship option sounds like the way to go, since it shows up at your doorstep. |

After purchasing an X1 on eBay last winter, I had JC Motors ship it to me from Florida. (I'm in Oklahoma) Cost me $529 door to door IIRC. http://www.motorcycleshippers.com/ |

I talked to Leslie today at "Big Texas One" He can hold the bike for as long as needed. We would love to do the Fly and Drive but I don't think it's in the cards for us. We have 2 foot of snow now and another foot is on the way so we are in no rush to have her moved. |

I just had HaulBike.com ship a Uly from Wisconsin to Silver Spring, MD for $503. If you ask them for a quote, make sure and tell them it was an eBay purchase. Like you I would have rather done the fly/ride thing but I didn't want to wait until April or later to get the new bike. |

I have been getting some good numbers from Uship.com The best so far is $314 door to door. I would do the Fly and Ride today, but it's the wifes bike and it's a little to cold for her. |

I had my Uly shipped to me and would recommend it to everyone. I say ship it. It would take a lot less time and money to get the bike to you. |
