Purchased a 07 XB12X later to find it stripped of it's manhood,(tools).

Wish to build a tool kit of nothing more nothing less. Starting from scratch, tell me what's needed "without using the words extended vaccation!
Tire plugger, and duct tape already in my stocking.

First you'll need a cattle prod to get that sucker to climb up on the stand. (See his profile.)

Most important piece is the axle tool, which can be found here: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/9153.html

A double sided T27 torx wrench is also handy:

There's also a reversible screw driver:

If you can still get the $99 Buell tool kit that has most everything you'll need and the rollup bag that says Buell on it.

Get the specs from the stock tool kit and head on out to the local pawn shop. Did mine for under $10.00 (had an old roll up from my 912 Porsche from bygone days).
I do like that axle tool though.

The $99 tool kit is no longer available. You're only hope for finding one would be a dealership that has it in stock, or on ebay.

I saw one on e bay, may still be available, also HD tool kit will only need to make a home made or ready made spark plug remover.

Thanks guys!
I can rummage and pillage the tool box to match the original 94685-03Y kit and order the Axle tool.
Anyone have a list of what was in the original tool kit?

Saw a few of the big Buell roll-up tool kits at Battley H-D in Maryland. Nice tools, and nice to have them all in one place, but I've already got them all.

Buell motorcycles come with a standard tool set in a pouch which is under the seat. The tool set consists of the following components:

Tool kit pouch.
4-in-1 screwdriver.
8 mm nut driver.
Combination wrench.
Spanner with 19 mm wrench.
Axle hex wrench.
5 mm L-style hex key.
T27 TORX wrench.
Security cable.
Store tool kit with the zipper facing down to prevent the zipper from contacting the battery post.

I would carry a few extra items as mentioned in previous posts.

Beartooth HD/Buell in Billings, MT, has one in the display counter. Great dealership. If I had any sense, I'd have bought it and put it on ebay for twice the price.

The Buell kit does not have the axle tool.
One comes with the bike if it wasn't robbed of its manhood.

It was robbed of it's manhood.

I figured if the tool kit came with the axle tool, I would just buy the whole kit.

Now back to plan A. Use a short bolt with the correct size head for the axle, with a nut jammed (welded) onto it.

Itileman:

I am told the axle tool is:
Buell part # C2040.02A8 wrench, hex axle 7/8 list $6.70. Mine should be here in a couple days.

I can't make them for that price. And this one will look nicer then my work. : )

Why is it that people seem to sell motorcycles but keep the tool kits? It's not like it's some wonderful collection of tools you want to add to your existing stash. I don't think I've ever heard of a used motorcycle being received with the tool kit still on it.

Tow - the one from American Sport Bike is $32.95. My guess is that you are going to be severely disappointed in the one you get from Buell if it's the one that comes with the little blue tool kit.

Went to add a used set of Journey brackets at my RV camp and unrolled my lovely new Buell $100 tool set. First item I needed was a Torx 27. Not there. Grrr....

Off to late night Home Depot and bought socket type Torx set. Back home...no adapter for the 3/8 to 1/4 so I could use the Buell kit 3/8 ratchet. Had one in my truck tool kit...but...this needs some re-thinking.

Eulysses-I thought the same thing till I dug around in there.
The T27 is in the reversable screwdriver.
A 1/4" T27 socket works better anyway.

It's a crime they do this to our Canadian brothers. I thought even $14.00 for shipping was high.
I was amazed when the UPS guy came walking down the driveway yesterday in the middle of a blizzard to deliver it : )
Nice tool kit for $49.00.
