I'm not a big ride in the winter fan, but I do it on occasion.

Thought this chart might be of interest.

A similar chart was posted in the QB a few weeks ago. I have seen -20's several times in the last month, tons of fun! : D

It is freezing outside as far as I'm concerned.

As a former Minnesotan now living in Montana (moved here to get warm), I'd say your post is quite accurate.

Ok, so lets say that the wind chill chart is accurate.

If it is 40 degrees out with no wind and I climb on my bike. I accelerate to a measly 60 mph, it would then feel like 25 degrees.

Then as I approach 100 mph it would feel like approximately 20 degrees. As I crest the hill the wind is blowing at 20 mph, it then feels like 18 degrees.

I guess I need warmer gear at this point huh?

It was 5 degrees when my brother and I left Tonopah NV one morning a couple Januarys ago. Now I know why I was so friggin cold even with gear.

Tonopah 2007 5 degrees

By the time we got to Beatty it had warmed up to the 20's.

Death Valley in January is fantastic.

Winter riding is a blast if you don't have to live in it I guess.
