With all the new faces on BB&D, I wonder how many folks---like moi---purchased their Ulys in 2005? Any "original" owners still around? Still riding the same bike? If I hadn't hit the deer I'd be at the 80K mile mark...sigh. --Doc |

Actually I think there are quite a few. I got mine new in April of '06. I waited for one to come available locally. The first wave sold out quickly. I had a perfectly good '05 City-X so there was no hurry for me. Now at 45,000 miles or so. Still farkling away at it! Still just as happy with it now as I was day one! |

I bought my first Uly in oct 2005. A 2006. I'm on my second one now....a 2008. Combined mileage on both about 70,000 miles. (Message edited by debueller on December 18, 2009) |

Debueller, Any differences in how they run? I ended up getting my son an 07' ULY mainly because I didn't see that 08 or 09 had improved on the original. The 2010 is a different matter. It has the dual O2 sensors and that interests me but they are a rare bird and the only place I'll probably ever gaze at one will be at the 2010 Homecoming. Anyways, only you guys that have owned both the 06/07 and the 08/09 can really weigh in on whether one model type is better than another or just as good. I demo'd an 08' and wasn't to keen on the "up"graded throttle cam and it's weak off-idle. I understand that an ECM reflash maybe took care of that but I can't really vouch for that. Both my boy's 07' and my 06' have been very good representations of the venerable ULYSSES. |

EG- if you really want to find a 2010 Uly, check out the newest feature at buell.com: http://www.buell.com/en_us/tools/find-a-bike/index .asp BTW- according to Court, Buell basically came up with this feature ~12 years ago. A Harley executive saw it and forbade them to use it because it would make HD look like they were in the dark ages. |

Hugh, Thanks. I went through all the states and only Colorado has any 2010 XB12X available. One Black and one Yellow. If money was no object, and it most assuredly is, I'd buy a 2010. For now, I'll ride my 06 until it expires and I bet it outlasts me. (Message edited by electraglider_1997 on December 18, 2009) |

Dec '05. Not many miles,(20K), but all smiles. Winters in Wisconsin have been long. I recently purchased a snowmobile to compensate. |

Had an '06 bought new in Mar '06. Oil pump drive gear fragged itself in August 2008 (~21K miles). I was out of warranty but Buell agreed to replace the motor with a new one. After being stranded multiple times I decided at that time that I had a cursed bike but that by being a stand-up company Buell still deserved my business. Traded the Uly on a 2008 XB12R in October 2008 and been lovin' it ever since! |

I've still got my 06. Ordered in 05, delivered to Germany in 06, transported back to Belgium same day and now it lives in Italy. Got about 26K on the clock but I'll tell you that those aren't nice miles! I tend to give it a good thrashing! |

06 purchased new in spring 06. Had fun w/dealer all winter, teasing them about purchasing. Was planning on using fattyB's deal of "fly and ride" only I would "ride and ride" trading 06 for at least a '10, but we all know the story now. Like my collectors item. |

The most noticeable differences with how the '06 runs vs the '08 is that the '08 is easier to start when cold thanks to the automatic high idle. The fuel mileage on my '06 was slightly better, too. Be aware that I'm not very picky and tend to conform easily to different bikes. I can hardly tell the difference between the 616's and the syncs. I just make sure my bike is properly maintained and safe, then just get on and ride, and don't sweat the small things. (like front tire swim) |

Still here! Still riding my '06 - purchased in November '05. I haven't used it as much this year - currently just past the 56,000 mile mark. I bought a new '09 XT in the Buell run-out here in Australia. I'm swapping between the two now and I would have to say the original '06 is my favourite. My '06 has had most of the standard niggles and as I've worked my way through them I have become completely attached to the lump. |

I am still riding my original 06 ULY, better know as the FBRAT Uly. Been gentle with thi miles as it has a special place in my heart. The new 1125R is an absolute hoot to ride. Now own two "collectible" buells. 06 ULY and 08 1125R. Life is good work wise, just waiting for winter to go away in the coming global warming. |

I purchased my First Uly in Sept 2005 #38 windshield. I traded it on my 2008 1125R. I might be getting a new 2009 Uly next week I love the 1125R but really missed the Uly It was either the Ulysses or a Ford Raptor SVT (the Buell was $31,000.00 less) |
