So I'm putting together a toolkit for the Uly, and I was wondering what wrench sizes are needed to take the thing apart and put it back together again.

Apologies if this has been covered before, my search fu is weak.

The buell toolkit you can order is supposed to be good, you can do must things you need to with it.

Obviously gonna need more if you are taking it completly apart

Actually, doesanyone that has the Buell toolkit want to document what is in it? I thought about buying it but then I was thinking I could put together those same tools, in better quality for less, as well as some others I would add. Have been reading the toolkit thread on ADV for ideas.}

If what you are asking is tools for your garage, it's not a short list but it's a simple one.

-SAE and metric wrenches, sockets etc
-SAE and metric allen wrenches
-About 3 sizes of TORX (I would just get a good set of them and have an extra T27 or two)
-Inch/lb torque wrench
-foot/lb torque wrench
-1 nice big jug of blue locktite

This list will get you started. Don't worry too much about special tools like what's described in the manual. Most of them are very easy to make yourself in minutes with the exception of the clutch hub puller. For $40 it's hard to beat.

I bought the Buell toolkit because it was only 85 bucks at my dealer with the MVP discount.
I removed the cheap ratchet it came with and put an old Craftsman in there and tied the axle tool in and the 27Torx key that came with the bike.
It comes with a swivel spark plug socket and the short socket for the front spark plug.
I made up a wire to jumper the diagnostic connector to check for codes and wrote the codes down in the owners manual.
I added a 5/16,3/8 and 7/16 wrench and removed the 19-21 combo wrench.
The large screwdriver includes a 27 Torx and those allen wrenches are the ball style.I added other stuff after I took that pic.
I think it was a good deal.

Thanks all for the info. Yeah, I could've been clearer in my original post. I'm putting together a kit for on the bike. I've seen the buell kit, but with the extras I've got laying around I figure I'll only have to pick up an item or two to fill in a solid roadside kit and not lay out $100 just to triple up on stuff I already have. I just need to know what sizes of torx, and wrenches I'll want to carry.

Thanks again!
