Excuse the messy garage. It is now clean. But I am running cycra's. Great all around. I also have both types of plastics for it. The large (shown) for cooler weather and summer guards (much smaller). Only changes I had to do, was add some small aluminum spacers on the inboard mounting bolts because I am using a radial master cylinder.

> What are the part #'s? Or is it sold in an entire kit? There are three components (the aluminum guards, the plastic shields, and the mounting hardware), but they're all sold together as a kit on twistedthrottle. If you'd like to order a set, go here: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/4 873/ Select a color in the upper right hand corner and choose "BB.BSC.STD" as the mounting kit. |

Not to threadjack, but what is the benefit of switching to a radial MC? |

For one, stock master broke in two during a tip over as the stock hand guards are just superficial. And two, I like the performance upgrade it gives. It allows me better feel/modulation, margin stopping power increase (with stock rotor, stock line and stock or Lyndall gold pads). Now that I have moved onto a Galfer Wave rotor and EBC pads, the modulation really comes into play and works in my favor. FOr normal street riding... a radial is not needed. But for myself used to the high end/upgrade brakes on my track bike and other bikes the stocker just doesn't cut it. I can wilt the stock set-up very easy in the mountains and did. But in the end, it's truely up to the user and their preference. I like my brakes almost too touchy. As soon as I pull the lever, I want bite. The stock set-up didn't give me this, even after numerous bleedings etc. The lever just traveled too far. BTW - It is the 17mm Nissan radial that American Sport Bike sells for the 6-piston calipers. |

Ah that's interesting, I didn't know it made a difference, busted stuff always makes for a good excuse to upgrade though at least, its worked on my wife so far lol. Sounds like it might have more bite than I want for how I ride, but maybe one day. I just ordered up a set of those guards however... |
