I just put a deposit down on a 2009 XB12XP. I am supposed to go get it tomorrow. I really wanted a 2010, but those were hard to find and I think I got a good deal on the bike I bought. I have a hard time spending money, though, so I am still in a bit of shock. I had no plans to do this now. None at all. Of course, I had no idea Buell was closing in and this kind of forced my hand. I have to say, the bikes are really selling now. It's too bad it took this situation and the terrible markdowns dealers are giving to get them out of the showrooms. I guess I will be listing my FXDX for sale soon. That is hard for me to swallow as well, but honestly as long as the Buell meets my expectations I don't know when I would choose to ride the FXDX over the Buell, so there is no need for me to keep them both. Now I just have to tell my wife. Wish me luck. |

I like my 09 and plan to milk it for fun for years to come. We will have the most desirable ones from the collectors point of view (unless you are an 06/07 owner who can't turn around in their garage but think they are so hot). You will LOVE your bike. Deals are out there! Let the dealer's fear of being stuck run the prices down. We win! Then in a year when there are no more to be had ours will start creeping back up in value...each year more and more. So many are out there that the basic parts will always be around. HD will probably take even more Buell tech over to its Sportster line with the idea they have to support the Buells anyway. |

Eulysses sez: Let the dealer's fear of being stuck run the prices down. There is no fear: up here in NY they are clearing the floors with only a small discount. I doubt there will be any Uly's left by the end of the weekend. What this says (ithink) is that Buelligans are more worried about not being able to get one, than getting stuck with an 'obsolete' machine. Now that's brand loyalty! |

are you ever gonna stop over here so i can meet ya, especially now that you'll have a uly. instead of picking up the blue scg at brandon/tampa because of their inability to be loyal to buell before this all happened, i'm flying up to nashville in two weeks to pick up a cheerybomb red scg from bumpus. i'm glad i decided to go that route. |

I had an FXDL - loved that bike. Traded it for a Road King and was one sorry SOB. Traded the King for my 09 XT. The Uly is many steps above either IMHO. Congrats. |

Interesting similarity... I had an FXRS-Sp. Loved that bike. Traded for a FLHS and regretted. Later bought a new 01 Cyclone M2. Loved it! Now my 09XT is the cats ass! I'll keep it forever. Enjoy your XP. |

With the same sentiments as Dyna's first post, I also put a down payment on a '09 Uly XT yesterday. Pick it up this afternoon. Got an okay deal on it, but hardly a kick-it-out-the-door price. Did get the parts guy to cut me a little slack on some extra goodies as part of the deal, so they did work with me some. I was waiting for a '10, but they never materialized in my part of the world. I'm excited to join the club, though. I've never been one to drink-the-KoolAid, so to speak, but I always get excited about the product when I read these boards. You all are a super bunch! Thanks to everyone! |

I think this forum is going to be an unusual factor in keeping the Buell legend alive and healthy for a long time. I think we will be able to enjoy our new (and old) bikes for a long time...purely because they are such great bikes then because the internet family is so helpful. |
