Going to name the XT Hugh, Hugh Jass. I'm planning on doing a lot more time on the road next year. Consequently, I sold the 1430's I had put on the Uly and went to the Pelican 1440's with the Happy-Trails mounting system on the stock Uly mounting frame. Works very well. Removing the Pelican case handles and wheels is easy and takes almost a pound of weight off. After some quality time in the Farkle Palace today, this is what I ended up with: This mod will cost you the use of the triple tail and there is some minor surgery on the bike with a grinder and cut-off wheel. Passenger foot pegs may go, too. |

Very nice! I also like what you did with your Agri Products tool tubes. That's exactly what I've been planning on doing with mine. I've just been putting it off in avoidance of drilling a bunch of holes in a pair of $1000 Touratech Zegas. Now that I see how sweet it looks though, it will get done soon. Nice job! |

Sweet. Slap a rod tube holder and your set! Curious though, any reason you dumped the triple tail, grab bar and rear baq? Also looking at the Happy-Trails web site I didn't see any thing about being able to use the stock mounting rack. (Message edited by missin44 on October 04, 2009) |

Oops disregard the comment about the triple tail. |

I thought about putting the tubes on the bottoms of the cases to keep them a bit out of sight, but then the cases wouldn't sit flat on the ground. My 4 piece, 4 wt rod is only a couple of feet long and fits into the waterproof duffle bag I carry across the top. My 6 wt is a bit longer and attaches to the duffle. The 10 wt is a problem. I may build or have a custom rack built on the end to carry my cooking kit case. Shouldn't be too big a deal. |

True, but I'd need a flag for it.
