Just curious. I put the comfort kit on my bike, did the reflash as it is an 09, and it was still hot. Improved but no enough to where I would say it still was not an annoyance. Would be better for about an hour, then the seat and frame would heat soak. So, I put the odie maximum heat blanket set on there as well, with the comfort kit, and it seems to be better. Seat/frame still heat soak but it takes longer. My concern is, with the fan shroud directing air from the fan hole down, and restricting air movement under the seat, is the heat blanket going to trap too much hot air above the rear jug? Or, am I just over thinking it? |

I've been using just aluminum foil (painted flat black on the outer side)for two years now. One piece blocks the gap at the right front corner of the seat and the frame. Cuts back on the radiant heat and hot air leak there. The other wraps around the shock extending down from the top of the fan. This directs the hot air down to over the top of the fender. Keeps the underside of the seat and the electronics there much cooler. Along with the two plastic clips snapped under each side of the seat to divert the air flow is all I've added (06 Ulys didn't come with em). Made the bike cool enough for me where it was way too hot before. Been that way for about ten thousand miles with no problems. |

I put the comfort kit on mine. I have done only about 350 miles thus far. A lot of it slow riding where it would have been very hot before on the seat and the leg, but no problem at all. I think this system works well. I have also experimented with the aluminum tape covering the area that the inner cover does, but leaving the upper sides open. That worked, but not nearly as well as after the RSS and inner shield. Some of this may relate back to what you wear when riding. Jeans will likely still be hot. Riding pants make a big difference. I don't know what you wear, but jeans never worked for me. |

I have kind of figured out that my issue as far as heat goes is short inseam, (30"). If i sit further back on the seat, heat is less of an issue, but it is not comfy. I always wear a full riding suit, 1000d cordura motorport suit. So I dont think that is the issue. I just wonder how much we can mitigate heat at the expense of air flow away from the rear jug before we cause a problem. |

I must be doing something wrong. Been riding all Summer here in Texas including extended journeys. I've yet to notice any heat issues. As long as nothing is blocking the flow of air there should be no problem. |
