Thought Florida-lime, Etennuly and possibly others might be interested in this. Looks like I had a problem with some wear on the the front coil wire that looks a lot like the spark-skip mode but it's not from high cylinder temps. You are welcome. It is a good tip if that is the problem. Mine was a year ago. I have fixed all of the wire problems I can find and with a little testing have found there is a real possibility that the FL/R/S is a real over heat situation now. When my coil primary wire was shorting it emulated the FL/R/S perfectly. Now the same thing happens under the same conditions after the wires have been fixed. The wire heat damage on my Uly seems to be caused by being exposed to too much heat for too long. The rest of what I have been testing will be back on the original thread. |

As noted elsewhere, I found my dealer installed OEM plug wire to be not fully seated in the coil. I also replaced the ETS and exhaust actuator, plus installed the Comfort kit, and haven't really had the chance to fully test that my problems are "cured". I doubt that the front coil wire fact is coincidence, though. |

I had the same symptoms, but my coil had fried and the bike would not run once put in gear. Blew a couple of fuse first, then would run on one cylinder at idle. |
