If you put two equally skilled riders on a good road with a Uly and a modern Jap or European Sportsbike - the guy on the Uly is chewing fumes. The reverse applies if the road turns to crap. You can ride it like one, but it's a far more versatile vehicle than that. I agree. I had more fun on the roads of obscure Texas Hill Countey than any other I can recall in a lonnnnnggggg time. They sport bike fellers were, well, afeared is probably the best word. The Uly soaked up the rogue pavement like it was nothing. |

I remember when I used to often turn around or avoid a gravel road. Just for the misery of a riding a touring bike on one. Now I think 'excellent!'. (Message edited by danger_dave on August 04, 2009) |

I say its not a sport bike, more like an Allbike. Uly can do this to this and even do this! I have some jumping pics somewhere but too tired to find them. |

Holy crap man, and to think, I was somewhat concerned when I had feelers touch down hard enough to start lifting the peg. |

I hope it is... I'm doing my first track day on it this coming Sunday, Aug. 9th at Heartland Park, in Topeka, KS. (NOTE: First track day ever!) I love my Uly! (I'd take the 1125R, but the rear tire has around 3500 miles on it and I don't think it'd pass inspection from what I hear...) Wish me luck! |

New12r is a freak of nature. He can ride a Ulysses backward carrying a band of midgets faster than most of us can ride it forward. In his case, it's the indian, not the arrow. I was on my Gixxer 600 at Jennings and he passed me like I was moving backward and I never could gain on him. Ba$tard! |

Indeed he is a freak. He can stop on a dime too when some douche on a cruiser was doing an illegal u-turn in the middle of a blind curve. (Message edited by froggy on August 06, 2009) |

Looking at 12r's pics I don't think it will be cubed soon. I like the pic in your profile 12r. |

Good luck "whipping it around" on that road. It'd taken him a 15 point turn with oncoming traffic to make that happen. |

Yep, at it again. I was thinking the sheriff vehicle was photoshop'd in. Not the pegs, not the rider. How is that being mr negative in this age? I'd say my assessment is more likely than not. If it's not staged either, that's one helluva incredible coincidence and shot! |

It's tough to "stage" anything with Blount County Sheriffs. |

Not staged, just a freak incident that a professional camera man just happened to be set up in that corner. When I saw the cop I was faced with braking and prolly hitting Killboy, or keep on keepin on. I obviously chose the latter. Ground most of the kickstand lever off the Firebolt that day. The Uly will do more than most bikes for sure. I will try to find the jumping pics sunday. |

TOTALLY TRUE!!! I dragged the pegs on my first track day ever and got my knee down on the third. The Uly is the ultimate happy medium and I hope I never have to get rid of it. |

I have yet to ride an XT. Other than lowering the bike, does the XT suspenders do a better job on pavement than the taller X ones? |

Got my chicken strip on the outside edge of my tires to under a quarter of an inch outside of Virginia City last month, this bike CAN drag the pegs. I ground the toe on my Sidi's two days ago. I find out every day how much I love this bike and how capable it is of doing just about everything. |
