I had to go to N.Montana to work at one of our sites this week. and i decided to take the Uly instead of flying.I came out ob Boise Id, through N.Idaho into Missoula, and on up to White Fish Mt.500miles of the best canyons in the PNW! and every evening I have been running about 150 mile loops around exploring. Glaicer National Park, Hungry Horse Reservior, around Flat Head lake, and tomorrow I am going to run up to Canada and explore a little. the Uly is a total blast to tour on! 500 mile days are nothing.. here are a couple crappy cell phone pic's. when i get home next week i will download my camera and add some more pic,s. There is nothing like getting paid to travel when you get to ride the best bike their is. .

What screen is that? How's the air flow around it? |

You are a tough SOB if 500 mile days are nothing. My Uly is the most comfortable bike I have owned but 500 miles in any car or truck gets to me. Maybe I'm just a puss. |

What screen is that? How's the air flow around it? Its the stock short screen with the Laminar Lip. It moves the air off of you chest and you still get good flow to your helmet, not turbulent, but a little more noisy. Keith; yes & no, 500miles of superslab and my butt git's to stinging. but 90% of this trip was mountain canyons with hardly no traffic, so i was running a good spirited pace and had a blast..} |

FYI the huckleberry jam in Hungry Horse is world class. You're in one of the most beautiful parts of the world IMO. Motorcycling on the Going To The Sun highway is great. I wish I was back up there now!! Cheers, Will |

I've done 600 mile days on my Lightning, and 1000 mile days in my car no problem. Puss. yeah I've driven from Tucson to Titusville Florida nonstop before and did it on the way back but I did not enjoy it at all. I think that was around 2200 miles each way. It still doesn't mean I like 500 mile days. |

Rmcconnell33, If you head to the coast,we just got back from there and went via John Day to prineville to sisters then crater lake and so on,might be cooler thru John Day instead of Burns/Bend?...Awesome ride up north! Aug. 14th we are heading that direction via Riggins/Lolo Pass/ and staying in Kalespell,Montana (487miles)for the first day then on in to Glacier NP the next day,any tips?....Thanks,Tim |

Tim, that is the same route I take, I make this run once a month. Hwy 12 from Kooski to Missoula is one of the best trips i have ever taken. And there is no better way to see Glacier than on your bike. {Hangontight Thats a Caterpillar G3520 its a V-20 thats spark ignited running on methane Gas From landfills, we produce electricity and put it back on the utility grid. Each unit is rated @ 1.6MW. I manage 20 of these facilitys around the country, with 16 new plants being built. i end traveling alot. And try to the bike as much as i can..} |

Tim Yes it was very toasty. I will go through burns to bend, and over crater lake into medford. I make this run pretty frequently also.My time frame is pretty tight to get there. but once I do, I can play in the evenings. Robert |

Tim I might try coming back through Klamath and Lakeview? it depends on my time schedule. i haft to go to New Hampshire toward the Middle of the month, and i would like to spend a few days at home, so i might just make the fastest route? Have Fun in Mt. If you are going to Hotel it in Kalispell, i usallay stay at the La-quinta inn, thay have good rates and always treat me good. |
