Where can I get one and does it retrofit to the '06? |

It's on the web site for like $120 bucks. New blinkers and a RSS? This is a total let down. Not even a replacement for the blast |

And a heat guard on the rear pipe.

And a second 02' sensor. Oh and I love the new yellow. |

+1 on the new yellow. How's that for a bold new color?! Actually, I'm really glad that they just flat-out called it yellow this time, instead of "faded, non-reddish Adventure Orange" or something like that. The original was never orange IMHO. |

Better pic: New turn signals and blacked out triple clamps as well. |

Text with the "Ulysses Rider Comfort Kit": Although not required, to maximize the benefit from the rider comfort kit, a new electronic fuel injection calibration is available for installation. See your local dealer for detailed instructions. Note: The new calibration uses a combined vehicle speed and engine temperature based strategy to optimize the cooling effects of the motorcycle's fan while minimizing the fan's run time. |

The aftermarket RSS even look better than the "New" factory one. I do like the Pipe guard thing though and with a front o2 sensor maybe it will run a little smoother. (Message edited by 12bolt on July 25, 2009) |

Aftermarket may look better, but hopefully Buell did a better job of engineering it to direct the airflow where it needs to go. ECM recal may make the biggest difference. |

Anyone want the new RSS? I'm just interested in the rear pipe shield. Headed to the stealer now. |

I read that there is an ECM mapping upgrade but I don't think its a "recall". I wonder if it applies to the 06' models? |

Airflow Management System New right-side air scoop, fan shroud, header shield and ECM calibration all work together to improve rider comfort. I called my dealer and ordered one.... we will see if it works... |

Notice in the close up picture above the little heat shields under the seat are gone. |

What happened to the factory line "it doesn't need a RSS. It actually is detrimental to cooling" ? |

""What happened to the factory line "it doesn't need a RSS. It actually is detrimental to cooling" ?"" +1 ... exactly what I thought when I saw this thread. . |

So...Lemme get this right. After 3 years of listening to the mothership (Abe and Annony) about how the RSS is such a bad idea, the new uly has this option? What ever happened to "it will ice up your fuel rail" or "it won't do any good while stopped" and "it causes a reduction in air flow due to turbulence". Rider comfort kit. Sweet. I guess it's ok now to have an RSS if the mothership sells it. |

You see, the placement of the Buell logo on the RSS helps to eliminate the air turbulence created by aftermarket models--this is indeed ruthless (h-d style) engineering. |

***me being totally selfish**** but what can I do for my '06 Uly? Will any of these fixes retrofit? Bike hasn't been run in 2 weeks, and I think my fan is still on. |

I think they are some good options, other that I already have a RSS. Shawn

I think its cool as heck that Buell listens to owner's chief complaints and takes steps to correct them. Kudos to them! |

Johnny- I'm sure the RSS and heat shield will fit your 06. The ECM reflash, doubtful, since its for the 3rd gen FI. |

Yes, it retrofits. http://www.buell.com/en_us/gear/accessories/produc t.asp?Menu_ID=2&ProductLineID=6&CategoryID=3&Produ ctID=10029 M1907.1AK fits '06-'09 XB12X and '08-'09 XB12XT models. |

Here's something I missed on the first read (emphasis added): Both Ulysses models feature a new right-side air scoop, fan shroud, header shield, and ECM calibration that work together to improve rider comfort. I wonder what the fan shroud looks like? |

I kind of doubted there'd be any reacibration for the '06 ECM, but without all the other mods (ie fan shroud) will the heat shield and RSS be enough? That's my biggest concern. I'm not going to just get a RSS because it's pretty. I wonder how much I'll get in trade for my '06 with 14k miles. |

Johnny- It's settled, then. You must go and buy a 2010 IMMEDIATELY and ride it 1000 miles before Monday. Why, you ask? So that I may discern the worthiness of the new ecm recalibration. I was gonna get the comfort kit anyhoo. |

Those Gold toned pipes in the photo sure look different than my purple / brownish / blotchy looking ones...and the muffler isnt orange like mine either. Wow - $120 bucks for a 2 0z piece of molded plastic! (wonder if it includes the screws?) They certainly learned something from the HD folks on price point. I'm probably going to have to buy one tho - wonder how long it will take if they have a 5000 RSS backorder ?! And Wolf's question - is fan shroud included, or is that another $120 ? You Buellers that get 'em early let us backordered folks know if it makes a difference. j |
