I want those big aluminum bar end weights to maybe save my hand guards from getting all scratched up during my semi annual tip overs. |

These HVMP bar ends work with the stock handguards: http://www.hvmp.com/universal.htm |

The HVMP ones work with the stock handguards, as long as you get the Extra Heavy Universal Bar Ends - http://www.hvmp.com/universal.htm I just put mine on last week and like them a lot so far. I can actually see if it's a cop in my rearview mirrors or just a white car... Also, my hands aren't getting numb anymore! Here's some pretty crappy pictures:

I'm not sure I noticed a huge reduction in vibes, but I do appreciate the protection in tipovers, they look cool as hell, and the people at HVMP provide legendary customer service. |

Probably too late now, but Palmer Products has some also that space the handguards out better. http://palmerproducts.auto.officelive.com/buellxb1 2x.aspx |

The HVMPs DEFINITELY decreased the vibes on my '06. Not sure if the Palmers are as heavy but the HVMPs are a quality product for sure. |

FYI The HVMP bar ends weigh 14.2 or 17.9 oz. The Palmer's 15.9 or 31.7 oz. |

I've got the HVMP one's too and they work and look great. However I wish that I still had the option of using bar end mirrors. |

Rwven, I think you've got your numbers a little mixed up. The Palmers website says website says 900 grams for their heaviest, thats about 15 ounces. |

Johnny, I punched it in here: http://www.metric-conversions.org/weight/grams-to- ounces.htm and that's the answer I got. Same answer here: http://www.gramstoounces.org/ |

I think they are talking about 900 gms per pair not each. I cannot see each being 31 ounces. That'd be a monstrous bar end. Apologies for doubting your numbers, I must've halved the 900 gm amount. |

Johnny, I'm no mathematician, you are welcome to doubt my numbers any time! |

So I called HPMV and I got the answering machine so I looked on the Palmer site and I ordered the bar ends and handguard extensions from them. I'll take some pics and give a review when I get them on. |

Palmer makes pretty good stuff. Another option is Kaoko (Koako?) only 5 oz but also has throttle lock and secures the handguards with a SS screw & washer. pretty durable. I epoxyed a thin ss washer on to hand guard so the ends won't spread when under pressure during tipover event. If you go that way - Be sure to locktite the ss screw that goes into the bar ends. |

Vibration in the handlebars suck. The bar weights help but the vibes are still noxious. Any of you try the ROX Rubber risers??? |

Methed it came to about $130 with shipping. I think you have to add about 70% to the price for USD's. Says it ships on Monday. Looking forward to a new Farkle! |

Hey, Dave, yep will be shipped today with your hand-guard extension kit - both kits were just under $130. Methed, The Ally Bar-ends are about $78 and the Stainless steel are about $98, plus a bit of Postage (about $13). A picture is always useful. (Message edited by strada on July 13, 2009) |
