Is this still a good part number for an 06 voltage regulator Y0302.02A8? I tried puting the number into a few dealer "search for part number" and It doesn't come up. Al @ American Sport Bike has one but I'm in NY and the 4th weekend coming up I'd like to ride this weekend. This is my 3rd voltage regulator in 50,000 miles so I figure I was due for it to fail again. Stator checks out fine but I got the engine light this morning and my HID lights went out and back on for the next 60 miles. So I turned on my PIAA's and the blew out right away. Got home and pulled an overvoltage code. I guess it must have overvoltaged so much it blew the bulbs. while trouble shooting the reg it blew the 7.5 fuse on the lead to my battery charger. I stopped testing before it blew anything else.

There's a new part number for it: Y1302-02A8 (see thread on XBoard here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/462377.html). The part number changed as a result of the "77 connector" problems. The new V/R comes with a new style connector and an extra connector to update the wiring harness on the bike.

I wonder if you haven't had a 77 connector problem all along? It would also pay to check your ground connections (see other posts in BB&D); something is causing that bike to eat voltage regulators.

The 77 looks great for all the crap it has been through. It still had the electrical grease I put in there on the last The stator always checks out ok. I'm not loading the system down but maybe my battery should be swapped out it is almost 4 years old.
Thanks for the info I only searched the knowledge vault and BBD areas. full search next time
