Just wanted to take the opportunity to dump on the Cycle World rag. I subscribed for a couple years, but did not renew over 1/2 year ago. The magazines stopped coming, but of course I have been continually hounded to renew. Well, I guess they couldn't take no for answer and they resorted to sicking some sort of quasi collection agency on me for $10 whole dollars. I checked my account online and the balance was zero. I emailed them with my concerns since there is NO way to talk to a human. So, *$&^ Cycle World and their parent company. I had no qualms with the rag until this point, but now they are on my eternal &*^& list. Here is the thread: Dear Mr. Gerton, Please provide the file/id number and the name, address and telephone number of the agency found at the top of the notice. Upon receipt of this information, we will contact the agency and have you removed from their collection efforts. Please be assured that the agency used does not report to any credit bureaus. This will not affect your credit history. Sincerely, Andy Hoffman Email Customer Service *When contacting us, please include all previous emails.* -------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Original Message: From: troygerton@yahoo.com Sent: 6/30/2009 To: cycleworld@neodata.com Subject: acct# 0500018815 CycleWorld, I am writing because I received a threatening letter from a bill collector on your behalf yesterday. The agency is called North Shore Agency, Inc. Is this a bona-fide correspondence from this agency? Do you use this agency and if so, why would I be receiving a letter from them stating that I owe you $10 dollars? I did not renew my subscription some time back. I just checked my account status online and it shows a zero balance. What is going on here? Thank you. |
