I have been considering getting a better sounding exhaust and now the muffler on my 06 is showing some rusting so maybe it's time. I want something that sounds better but not obnoxiously loud. Any opinions? Thanks, bb |

Depending on your definition of obnoxiously loud, your best bet would be the race pipe as that is the quietest of all the pipes. |

No, they stopped selling them a couple years ago. Buying used on Ebay, etc are your only sources. |

I talked to the guys at Drummer. Nice people. Anyway I am going to send them my exhaust and have them do their magic on it after the riding season is over. Sounds like they are backed up anyway. Thanks for the input. BB |

You may want to purchase a used OEM muffler on the internet and have it sent to Kevin. Then if you find it too noisy or not what you want just put the original back on and sell the Drummer. I got one for about $90. That way you also don't have to wait till winter. |

Sweeter sound aside, you may want to read the muffler comparo data on American Sportbike. Only two pipes there made any power increase worth mentioning and some (Drummer included) showed HP losses in the RPM ranges you use the most. In my opinion, $400+ is a handsome price for nothing more than more db. The Drummer does sound sweet though, I have to admit. |

I don't want to go backwards on power. Are there any simple mods to the stock pipe to get a better sound? |

It looks kind of half assed but something like that should be easy to do. Why the 2" hole 1st and not just the 3/8ths? Would this let water get in? bb |
