Hello, Have a question about speedo trip meter resetting its self on Uly. {seems to do it when moving the bars left and right} after shutting key off. have checked the grounds but no luck finding problem. Hoping someone on here might have had this happen to them and suggest a cure. Thanks all. Tom. |

If it is related to movement of the bars then the splice in the 12v line located at the front of the headstem should be eliminated. You should be able to localise the movement based on the pictures in this post. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/446370.html#POST1413351 It is also the symptom of a low battery dragged too low during the start cycle. |

I'm with Rays, mine did it when the battery power was insufficient to maintain memory when cranking the engine. When I would hit the starter it would erase the saved information, but then work fine when running. Yours would seem to be in the steering head wiring or possibly the ground wires at the center of the steering head behind the headlights. My grounds broke off there causing that and other problems. For some reason my throttle cables ran right between the ground wires. It worked them every time the bars turned, until they broke off. |

I will check the ground ends, and wiring harness as shown. This has not caused an issue with the running, Just a little aggravation. Thanks to all on here for the help. Tom. |

When you start the bike, the starter should not hesitate before turning the motor over. If there is a delay you notice at all, your battery needs replacing. |

It was the red {1 into 3} power wire that was bad. I replaced with new splice and am good to go. Thanks Rays for the pic. This made the fix easy. Tom. |
