I recently bought a leftover '08 Uly. While looking through the owners manual I noticed the clutch free-play on the Uly is different from the Firebolt and Lightning. Uly .140"-.180", Firebolt/Lightning .062-.125. The only thing mentioned in the manual is that the "free-play on the Uly needs to be set with the clutch cable removed from the handlebar hook". Is this the only reason the free-play is different between these models? |

Are you in the 2008 BUELL SERVICE MANUAL? I'm looking at page 1-27 top left line; "provide 1/16-1/8 in. (1.6-3.2mm) free play at clutch hand lever." Figure 1-29 shows where to measure between the ferule and bracket. |

Ourdee, No, I'm looking at the "Owners Manual". As a matter of fact they gave me a 2009 owners manual. They show the picture where to measure and give a table for clutch free-play on the XB models. Like I stated in my first post, they give different specifications for the Firebolt/Lightming and the Ulysses. Wondering why? |
