Short in the main harness under the plastic anti-bend-chafe device on my '08! Neutral light goes out when it's cranked all the way right. Wonder where Buell builds their harnesses? Poland! |

Mexico, Honduras, or the Phillipines seem likely. It's unlikely that Buell actually builds them - I ran into a guy in my travels through the EDS world that worked on the original XB harnesses - I think he worked for AFL. They'll be sourced to a company that does that kind of thing for a living.. |

Same thing happened on my 96 Triumph Speed Triple, with about 9K miles on the clock. |

same thing happened to my 08 xb with 5k on the clock, then at 14, and yet again at 16. well, no melting, just chaffing i guess. |

Guess it's just one of those problems Japan got right in 1968, and Harley/Buell is still working on! |

At least it's your neutral light. My headlight ground went out while I was riding home one night - every time I turned the bars to the left it flickered out and died. Fun city! |

It's not just Uly's. My gf's Blast has been fixed twice under warranty for wiring issues. Earlier this year, she had the wiring harness at the headset replaced. Before that, it was a wire leading out of the engine that rendered it dead next I-5. It was 180 miles from home and took us an entire day to get it home in the back of a truck. Now it is in the shop again for rear wheel bearings, as is my Ulysses for rear wheel bearings.......both of our Buells are in the shop for warranty work for the same problem at the same time. WTF! Between both Buells, we both have experenced lots of wiring and rear wheel bearing issues. IMO Buell has some work to do in reguards to wheel bearings and wiring. |
