ive got a bud with a set of gold R wheels he wants to trade for my X wheels.. it would look good on my black X, however, i understand the uly wheels are stronger than standard wheels.. ive never compared the two side by side.. i plan on doing some gravel roads in the smokies this summer, is there a substantial difference in the uly wheel.. anyone had an experience that i should consider? |

IIRC, all XB wheels use the same castings, it's just that a little less material is machined off the rim of the Uly wheels. You're a little less likely to bend the rim if you hit a pothole or big rock with the Uly wheel. |

Ft_bstrd did exactly that same deal. His gold rims looked great on the slower black Uly. He will likely let you in on how they worked. |

The Uly wheels are one pound heavier from what I've been told. The Uly axles are also beefier than the other XB axles. They look the same when they are side by side. But if you measure the ID of the axles you will notice that the Uly's is a smalled ID making it a thicker wall than the others. Just ask Froggy, he knows. |

One pound less material in the R/S rims vs. the Uly wheels. Unless you are hitting HEAVY baby heads, you won't have a problem. Slicker has been running standard CityX wheels in worse conditions than you are likely to encounter without issue. Join the party. I just left. |
