Hi Gents! I bent the stock Uly bars and am looking for a replacement with a little bit more pull back/rise. I am considering an aftermarket bar or the stock bars with risers.... Does anyone have any experience or input? I searched and can not find a thing. |

+1 on the PE risers. They give you the opportunity to use 1-1/8" bars with a large variety of bends available. From the Pro Taper ATV Raptor bar that is closest to stock that I've found down to the flatter CR Low. Plus they are available in silver, black and titanium colors. You may want to trim a little of the ends of whatever bar you choose. |

So here is what I am trying to compare. 1)Replace the stock bars with stock bars and add a 1'' riser from Precision Engineering. Cost = $50 riser + $? bars = ? 2)Replace the stock bars with pro tapers or simmilar with more pull back than the stock bars. Cost = $75 bars + ??? = ? The question here is... the stock bar plugs to hold the deflectors in place won't work right? So what can I do to resolve that issue... does it require money? Thanks for the help so far! |

I'm using the bar end weights but to use the plugs you should only have to drill out the ends of the bars a half in or so deep. Good luck finding a bar with more pull back than the stock Uly. Your least expensive alternative is to find someone here who will sell theirs to you cheap (sorry, can't help you - mine were bent too). |

Are they bent that bad where you cant put them under a truck tire and a pole on the other end and straighten and bend them to your liking. Custom made more than one set of bars like that. |

I really had not considered bending them back. I would rather put a good bar on that has not been bent. The used route with a cheap riser seems to make the most sense. Thanks for the heads up. |

Not to hi-jack the thread, but when using the PE 1" riser with the stock bars, do you also have to buy longer control cables or do the stock ones work ok? |

The stock cables work fine. I love my 1" risers. |

Just an observation: I was able to look at a set of Pro-Taper Raptor bars($75) today and hold them up to a Uly. They appear to be a bit shorter, less sweep and wider(need to be cut). I think I am going to purchase them and add a PE 1-1/8 riser/adapter. Just have to figure out how to get the left hand grip off without ruining it. I like my heated grips WAAAY too much to screw them up. NUTS |

To install on your replacement bars you will need to drill 2 little holes. http://froggypwns.com/buellpdfs/Buell_Heated_Hand_ Grip_Kit_INSTRUCTIONS.pdf If you want to borrow the drill guide, drop me a PM. I don't know if it will work with whatever bars your going with. |
