After my pickup grill vs. rock pile choice this last Aug (lucky I decided on the rock pile - lots of broken stuff vs. worse) I pick up my "new" 08 tomorrow (my 06 did not make it). I know the 08's had some growing pains my new one has 700 "test" ride miles on it. Any '08 advice besides - ride it like a Buell and all will be well? |

You have already owned a Buell, you know the drill. |

You're going to get less MPG than your '06. But you have heated grips, more stearing lock, better oil pump, a larger oil cooler and the side heat shields to comfort you. I am enjoying my '08 as much as I enjoyed my '06 when it ran well. NUTS |

OK after picking up my Uly today - Oh Yes!! I so missed this!!! Two issues from my 06 - windshield, easy fix. Mirrors - I had bar end mirrors from Americansportbike on my 06, never experienced the stock lollypops. The Aprilia Tuono mirrors are an option, I dug through the archives and found http://www.trak-tek.com/products/front/barEndMirro rs.html from back in '06. I am about out of $$'s so I need all the advice possible on mirrors before I buy. I know Ft_Bstrd tried Rizoma 851's on his departed Uly. I hate looking at my shoulders! (I am 6'6" 270 so maybe I need Dodge Ram mirrors). Help! (dangerous question) (Message edited by nwforester on April 05, 2009) (Message edited by nwforester on April 07, 2009) |

Some folks have fitted the 1125cr mirrors. Gets you the turn signals up there, and look cool too. |

Against the prevailing consensus, but I tried the Tuono mirrors and didn't like them. The Tuono's are now on the Blast and the Lollipops back on the Uly! |

08 XT, ride this past weekend around Okeechobee lake yielded 54.6 mpg, This is the best so far for me, which I think is great mpg. |
