Ok I know this subject has been beat to death here many may think. I am new to this whole thing and have some specific questions and thoughts on it. I picked up a set of HID,S for my Buell and have rd through all the forums here. I go them from Star Rotors seemed like a nice small setup and relatively inexpensive for a double setup. I see a lot of guys talking about timers upon start up. I asked the techs at Star about this and hey said if the bulb has come up to temp…about 30 sec that the voltage drop when starting the bike is of no concern. Once the bulb is warm it is no different than going from high o low beam….makes sense to me. I did not install a timer but did install two line fuses,12 relays for both and the install was easy and I will post picks soon. The kit fits nicely within the fly screen I think. |

cool. again, the cost of the systems is pretty low. I have had twin HIDs for three years with no problems. I don't "flick" the beams, but I do have the low beam set to be live when the key is switched on and the high beam to be toggled with the switch without issue. If you cut the life in half, you would still have a capsule and bulb that would last 1250 hours. That more time than most of us will keep the bike. |

Ft Bstrd I would hope you would have a bike for more than 52 days, otherwise the DMV will get sick of seeing you. |

1,250 hours at 60 miles per hour would come to 75,000 miles. 1,250 hours at 30 miles per hour would come to 37,500 miles. 1,250 hours at 10 miles per hour would come to 12,500 miles. |

It was $100.00 for two bulbs and slim ballist. I had the relays and pig tails already probably about another $20.00 worth of stuff loom, wire, connectors heat shrink including relays and misc. There is a huge diff in the light I must say. |
