Hi folks. I am a new Buell owner. I took a demo ride on the Uly and had to have one. I bought a used bike in great condition - LOVE IT! It needs a tune up, but it seems that Buell is an after thought at my Harley dealer. Any suggestions for a good service provider in the Sacramento CA area. I will go to NV if I need to. Thanks for your help. |

My two cents: get a service manual and do most of that stuff yourself. The service manual will at least tell you if the repair might be getting in over your head. If memory serves, the only normal maintenance item that is even remotely technical is the fork service. Spark plugs take a wobble socket, the rest is changing oil. DO BEWARE, however, don't tighten the oil and tranny drain bolts to owner or service manual spec, or you will see little shards of aluminum being spat out your socket |

"it seems that Buell is an after thought at my Harley dealer" That seems to be common complaint. What part of Sacramento are you in? I live in Newcastle and deal with both Rocklin Harley and Auburn Harley. Rocklin is bigger and fancier and they tend to have more parts in stock (still not much). I have found that I like the service dept. at Auburn Harley better though. Their prices are a little cheaper and they are always on time. Just be sure to check the oil level yourself if you let them change it. They seem to feel that if they are going to charge you for three quarts they better put it all in there. It should be 2 1/2 max. |
