On December 04, at the age of 56, I got rid of the ol '89 Heritage and purchased a 2009 XB12XT from HD of Pensacola. Do I love it? HAHAHAHAHA. I cannot wipe the smile off my face, even while sleeping. This my first bike that is not an HD or a Gold Wing.

Hey! That looks just like mine. Welcome to the dark side. Great to have another blue XT on the forum. They're the coolest you know. In July I traded my beloved 06 1200R for a 08XT and wonder why did I wait so long. |

Congratulations! You'll love the bike. I fell in love with riding all over again when I bought my Uly. I read somewhere that the Ulysses was fast becoming Buell's all time best selling bike. I wonder if there is any truth to that (I find it hard to believe that it would be a better seller than the Blast). Wayne |

Sweet bike, man! Looks good in the blue and black scheme. My 06 had the paperwork under the seat from where the original owner traded a hog for it. Not sure why he sold, but his loss was my gain. Every time I get off of it I shake my head in amazement and think, "god I love that bike." |

Welcome to the madness. By the way, how tall are you? You make the Uly look small. |

I suggest a full-face helmet to hide the big dorky grin. |

welcome to the darkside and it does look like you would be more comfortable on the x, standing next to the bike you kinda make it look small. reguardless, it's a fun bike and i'm sure you'll enjoy it. if you get a chance to come up to suches ga at the end of march you won't regret it. |

It's just so weird to see the short-legged Uly's. I haven't gotten used to seeing them out and about. I really like the way they look. |

Welcome to the fun side of life! you're gonna love how that bike handles. I've got an 08XT, (the faster black model), but I'm Impressed with the BLUE also. Have fun ride safe, and don"t worry about the grin. |

I look at that pic and think "Now there's a guy who's gonna be looking into a '06 seat!" Welcome aboard Awhig, this Forum can be habit forming. A Uly is one of those bikes that will coddle you when you want but also amaze you at what it can do when pushed. You're in for lots of fun. |

Come on in, the waters fine. YEEEEEEEE-HAAAAAAA Just look at that grin. I've got the same one. My grin usually goes away when I get home and the wife starts b*******. Just go for another ride to fix it. |

Chrisgrant,"b*******". I just put her on the back of the bike and go for another ride. Then she has a big grin too. Awhig, Welcome aboard. If you think that's a smile, wait till you take it out of the land of straight roads and find some twisties. Yep looks like mine too. (Message edited by OurDee on December 20, 2008) |

Looks like mine, too. I kept the Fatboy though. My only gripe is occasional stuttering when I start moving from a standstill. |

Thunderbox, the new Uly way different. of course. Much more power, way better handling, and loads more fun. I put 700 miles on the Uly and then delivered the '89 to my friend about 15 miles away. Felt like I had a low/flat tire in the sweepers but I did not. Just used to the Uly's handling. I am crazy about the new bike! |

Adrian 8 - You ever ridden an 01 or newer wing for any length of time? They are great bikes. If you can find it check out Yellow Wolfs ride on the Dragon, puts lots of sport bikes to shame. I did trade up to a Uly so that I could fit the Uly and Fiancee's Scg into my toyhauler. I also find the Uly more comfortable on long hauls than the wing, so I guess my Uly is also my sofa Awhig-Welcome |

Hey Awhig, I am almost the same age as you and did the Uly cross Canada 2 years ago 2 up. Awsum machine and I can honestly say I have not even looked at new bikes since getting it. I did get rid of the beak fender in favour of the XT fender, added an oil temp gauge and a charging indicator other than that I have been extreemly happy with my 06 Uly. |
