So who do we have to bribe, threaten, or kill to get companies to make these in a front 17"?

I've seen a few out there with similar tread patterns and they all make a sweet 17" rear, but only 19 or 21 for the front. Are there not enough Ulys, Multis, and Tigers on the road to justify a 17" front? |

Start a thread in "Beasts" on advrider.com. Maybe between the three groups there's enough interest to get them to produce one. |

These aren't exactly "dirt" tires, but for the way I see many people riding their Ulys, there really isn't a suitable tire offered. If a tire like the Tourance, Trailwing, Conti Escape, and a few others, were offered with a 17" front option, my guess is they would be the best selling tires for the road biased "Adventure" bikes. The best thing out there now is the Avon Distanzia and even though they work OK in on dirt road, I still hear a lot of people wishing for more tread for their non-pavement excursions. |

Hey, those are sweet. I thing I recall you mentioning these. Aren't they the Supermoto rain tires? They should do well if they can hold up under some mileage. |

I used the Avons on my KTM Duke II. The front tire was barely worn when I took off my 2nd rear tire. I liked them, but they really are a rain tire -- they will not last very long in dry road conditions. And that was on a lightweight single cylinder machine. I'll be waiting to see if their off-road performance justifies their shorter life for you in your "test". |
