Went into radio shack today for supplies for some office stuff and looked up at the wall. EarBuds on Clearance, the foam type, look exactly like the Comply NR-1 High-Performance Noise Reduction Earphones, same patent # but radio shack brand, marked Half price for $23, but here is the best part, at the register unadvertised clearance, $6.77. I am no audiophile, but my NR-1 knock down the wind noise and the ipod sounds fine to me Radio shack number is 33-1255 p (Message edited by paulync on November 24, 2008) |

Hmmmm...I'm still thinking about earphones, but I REEEALLY want to make sure they block the wind noise and let me at least hear a BIT of the music. Do these things really compete with earplugs, yet let you hear your tunes? Do you get off the bike after a variety of riding speeds and not feel deaf? Or should I plunk down the bucks and get something fancy? I'm sort of anti-earphones when riding, but I'm also REALLY wanting to listen to music on the Uly. That's why I LOVED the Electra Glide Ultra Classic I rented with the big speakers. |

My NR-1 cost me about $60 with an extra set of foam buds. But for $7. I can always use the radio shacks ones for ear foam replacements, They're the same foam plugs with tubes. The only difference I see is a chrome color vs all white on the speaker housing, same wiring, original RS price was $48, I bought 3 sets that all they had at that store, And it looked like the same specs on the comply website. My Ipod is set just over 1/2 when I ride seems to be the same as standard foam insert wind noise if I turn off the Ipod. I like it much better than my electraglides sound system, but then again the mufflers. I do not care about listening to music on the glide, but I would rather drive the uly on long drives. I had shures, had wires smashed by the mini van door, (small kids) I liked them but, last summer on C-130 a crew member turned me on to the NR-1 I been real happy, I may check out other radio shacks in my area.
