Some asked questions about the tools tubes and the AUX tank But no one noticed the chain swap. The tires are next but the wife said we had to put tires on the car first.

The Aux tank I got from 2evil4U over on the ADV page so I can't take credit for the design. Simple gravity feed system through the stock tank vent. I got over 350 miles before I filled up the first time I ran it. The first pic is 2evil4u's.

The tool tubes were fun to try and figure where to mount them. I found the rear brace to be almost an exact fit. Using a hammer to convince the brace to be the same as the tube (about 1/4 inch) the one mounted up great. I was concerned about tire rub so the second tube was the only place to go. I cut the mount completely off. If it didn't work ok I'm out 5 bucks.
I used the tab off the license plate mount and reinforced the tube with a metal strap on the inside where the bolt went through. I also had to chop off about a inch or so of the cap and epoxy glued them back together.

The Chain conversion took longer than I wanted it to but it went on. heres a link to some instructions I followed for parts. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/67642.html?1091141171 http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=3842&post=389008#POST389008
I used a 48 tooth rear 27 tooth front. I will do a 9 primary swap this winter with the TKC 80 tires. The 9 primary with the 48 tooth will not give me a full 10% reduction but around 8%. I still do a ton of slab to get to the cool places to ride. Right now the speedo is dead on with the GPS all the way up past 100MPH. One thing I forgot to do was re-balance the rear wheel. Taking off the huge rear pulley caused a did difference on balance.

The chain swap will incite riots. My reasons are mine and thats why I did it. Durability off road is my main concern.

Very nice mods. How much does the tank hold and how much did the chain swap cost?

Hey Rotor, nice work.
Is the non-sprung loaded tensioner ok with a chain?
You gonna get a ScottOiler for it?

I look forward to seeing the TKCs on it.

Great pics of the tool tubes, exactly what I wanted to see- that's going on the dry board of future farkles to do.

Edit: Oi, "didn't spot the chain conversion" how were we meant to spot the chain conversion from the 'sleeping' pics? They're both taken from the L/H side!

The tank holds just a bit over 3 gallons. The chain swap cost me around $250 because I wanted a good chain. The chain was the most money in the setup. As for lube I was going to use a dry lube like a wax base or a molly base.
Saturday was the test for the chain and if the roller was going to provide the right tension. So far so good. After over 250 miles off road the cain rolls well and the upper chain stays away from the swing arm even across a really bad washboard roads. I had to get a new front and rear pulley anyway and the cost was much cheaper going chain.

soewe812 over at advrider (http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=334146) tried TKC 80s. He had no problem with the rear other than mounting, but had issues using the 130/80 out front. Are you using the 120/90 instead?

I may have screwed up. On Continentals web page http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/de/en/co ntinental/motorcycle/themes/motorcycletires/enduro /tkc_80/tkc_80_en.html
it lists tires for Germany. There doesn't seem to be a USA site for motorcycle tires.
