There was a 'debate' a couple months back that you couldnt put the shorter XB frame rails on the Uly... (I know it could be done, cuz I sat one built that way) Well here are the pics. Its winter, discuss amongst yourselves.

Then you get a STT : )

I am sorry, but the Uly is so awesome that it should be the only bike Buell makes besides the 1125CR : )

Are those S rails or SS rails?

I like it. I'd probably go with the SS rails instead

Now, the other question is has anyone noticed that there are already S or SS rails contained within the X tail? Which are these rails?

You could buy an undertail, tail piece, and seat and swap over?

I would love to see a special edition 1125 in full dress clad like the RR1200. That would be the only way I come to the water jugger side of the house. Lord knows they are never going to give me the 450cc dirty bike I crave.

The rails on a Uly are (I'm 99% sure) the same as Ss / STT rails. The "tail bridge" - rearmost section that holds the taillight, seat latch, handrails, plate bracket, etc - and the seat itself are the Uly-specific pieces. If you pull the seat of a Uly, and the seat of an Ss right next to it (done it), you'll see the same bosses are cast into each set, but different holes are drilled to mount the bridge depending on which bike. I'd have to look again but I think the Uly rails even have the bosses cast in for Ss passenger pegs.

I agree - the Uly "should" have the big seat on it, it fits the bike's mission better. However, I'd love to see a CR with an XBS tail on it, as opposed to the XBR tail. No idea if it'd *work*, but I think it'd look cool.

The Uly rails DO have the unused bosses on them. Seems to me, you'd just need the undertail, tail bridge, seat, and other bits to pull it all together.

I like that - looks very good. Anyway to get rid of the rear footpeg "arms" to neaten the back?

Time to get out the hacksaw and files if you want to loose the pillion pegs I reckon.

Nah. You just swap out the R/S rearsets for the Uly rearsets.

Bolt right up.

You'd need to install the rear passenger pegs from the SS if you wanted the pegs back.}

Nah. You just swap out the R/S rearsets for the Uly rearsets.

If you do this, you also need to change your foot controls - shifter, linkage, rear master cylinder, brake linkage and pedal. It all bolts right up, but there's more than just the peg mounts involved in the exchange.

Anyone done this? I guess not - this is just idle speculation, as I like the beaver tail - just really handy...!

Still, a monster version of the Uly would be v cool. tempted....

I can't remember.

Neither do I : D

At the moment its more SS than Uly. I got most of the Uly tail bits, waiting on the seat. I ordered part of the triple tail, but not everything for it yet.I can put both setups side by side for pics and comparisons.

I might be interested in your SS bits if you are planning to part with them.
