Was feeling a little guilty for not riding the Uly much since the hyper moved in. Besides, it was a little chilly out and the uly has a windshield.

how much more comfortable is the aftermarket seat, vs stock. Is it worth the money? I have a 08 xt with the low seat. By the way, that bike of yours is kickass. |

God you put me to shame just so much in the bike cleaning stakes. Is once per year not enough?... Looks very nice Tread. I tried to find a thread on your 1250 big bore kit (and failed). Very tempted... Did you do the cams too? Power difference? |

Thanks guys. I thought the uly and the hyper would be more alike but that hyper is a whole nuther kind of riding. Allthegoodonesrtkn: The corbin carbon gunslinger with lady is a good daily driver seat if you like to move around alot. I like it enough on trips too, but it is hard to beat the comfort from a stock 06 seat. Thanks Big Here is whats left of the original thread. link Not sure what happened to the rest of it. I think I did something to rub the board owner the wrong way...Ohh well. No cams. Since this was/is a daily driver we decided against the cams as there was a timing issue with the selection available back then. Check with Dan at NHRS as I think they just released cams specifically for the buell. |

Thanks Tread. And the end result- with the benefit of hindsight and an 08 Uly in Alaska?... Power?.... |

The 08 in Alaska was down on power, even two up. The strom that replaced the uly in alaska wasn't much lighter and seemed down on power too. If you want your uly to get out and stretch it's legs go for the 1250 with the forged pistons and ported heads. You already have the micron, just make sure it can get lots of cool fresh air as these big vees love to breathe. Don't know how you will handle the fueling tho unless you have a very early 08 ecm that has not been reflashed. (Message edited by treadmarks on November 19, 2008) |

Ah I have not the micron anymore, but this: http://img3014.photobox.co.uk/69151232449cffd4c81f 16c0119d12fe0fa7102929294d27c050214493b7d22354599d ae.jpg Let me know if you cannot see that... Plus I have this: http://www.trojan-horse.co.uk/prods/296.html Which has been just incredible - sorted all my fuelling issues in one go... A few more miles and I'll post a review of it, however it is simply fantastic!... |

PS - Tread you are very right, very early 08 model that has not been reflashed - and use ECM Spy to cure its problems... I was reflashed, which was great as improved idle and mileage, however on hindsight... (Message edited by bigkuri on November 18, 2008) |

Hey Treadmarks, A question for you about your Zero Gravity windscreen. Did you mount it with the OEM fasteners all the way around? I just received my ZG "Sport Touring" screen, but it came with no hardware. I called ZG and they said, it's meant to use with the stock fasteners. However, I spoke with someone at my local Buell dealer about it and he informed me that the additional wind forces on the taller screen can pop the screen off of the bottom snap-in fasteners. Apparently the Buell tall screen comes with a pair of mounting bolts that pass through the flyscreen to give that added strength. Any comments? How did you fasten yours. Thanks. A- |

Hi HAng, I had my ZG pop loose at 130 and it left skidmarks on my seat. Here is the deal. Use the Buell screw fasteners upgrade on the bottom pin holes and use the factory plastic pins on the top. This will let you pop the top off to gain access to the top cowl mounting screws that are behind the ZG screen. I recommend cutting about 1/8th of an inch off the metal spacers that come with the screw fastener upgrade. This will help keep the windshield from flexing at high speed. |

Big, I would be looking for a very early 08 ecm, and/or kissing xopti's azz to see if he has some mojo that may let your mod the fueling and timing tables. I'm not a big fan of the reverso exhaust. I heard it puts out some really good numbers but I just cant get past the looks. |
