Conchop, I initially was thinkin' "no" to a 1125X, but after seein' the above image, all bets are off. I'd be trading in my '07 for one of them things in an instant (I'll suffer the crappy mileage by doing more wheelies......)

LOL. My Uly is breaking in and its not too soon either. The lean 08 buzzy motor, its overgeared stone axe tranny, and its inability to handle heavy loads has left me thinking it could be better. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot to like about the Uly, but there certainly room for improvement. If there is a properly geared 6 speed, low/mid range cams, effective counter balancers, and a suspension capable of practicaly handling hubba bubba loads, the Uly 1125 could be the absolute king of the adventure touring bikes.

PS - to really whomp - up on the BMW, I'd add a dirt girder front end and some 18-19-21 inch high mileage tire combo's.

The latest issue of Rider magazine has a review of the CR in it and they really liked it.

If I were Buell, I'd forget about the GS altogether.

"Adventure" bikes never seem to please everyone. They are either so dirt focused that they suck on pavement (where most are ridden) or they are so street focused that the dirt people complain they need a 19" or 21" tire.

No...Buell needs to do what Buell does best. Make real world sportbikes for the street.

Forget about racing classifications and what the other guys are doing. Go their own way and make a unique machine.

Right now, the only competition for a liquid cooled Ulysses would be the Triumph Tiger, and that thing has the wheelbase of a barge and a dealer network even more scarce than Buell's.

Let the GS, V-Strom, Varadero, and KTM Adventure have the big "adventure tourer" segment.

Hmmm. Interesting proposition. Nonetheless, the GS has a large market share.

A simple question for Erik and the motor company:

Would a GS Adventure oriented Uly with the 18-19-21 inch tires - with a super smooth and powerful engine and tranny - ability to handle large loads - longer range - MAKE A BUCKET FULL OF MONEY for ERIK LIKE THE GS ADVENTURE DOES FOR BMW???

With the current financial train wreck, I'M quite sure it would be a hard question to answer.
