My '08 Uly has had a distinct metallic rattle sound since new. 10 months ago, it was faint and only there during strong vibration. 8K miles later, it has gotten a lot louder and is noticeable more frequently than just pulling away from a stop. I've tried to locate the source several times but have not been successful until last Saturday. It is the pin for the fork lock. The pin turns freely, is it supposed to tighten? It does not seem to do so. I can see a gap between the pin and the flange that it passes through, am I missing an O-ring or sleeve? I wrapped some foam tape around the pin, fouling against the flange, this took care of the noise for nearly 20 miles. Any solutions? Mark in Arizona |

Check the horn under the flyscreen. If it moves out of position it can rattle against other things under there. |

The cross brace that the horn is attached to may also be loose. Screw at either end but you'll have to remove the fairing cover to see both the horn and brace. |

It's specifically, and definitely, the pin for the fork lock. |
