There are 2 grades of the PIAA 510 lights. These are the super white. They also have the extreme white plus, which are a brighter light output than the super whites, and cost a little bit more. Make sure you know what you want. |

Good enough for me . . . I'm converting them to H.I.D. anyway. I've got a set on the way. At that price, tough to go wrong, eh? |

Man there sure are lots of different PIAA 510's out there ...but all variants of the PIAA 510's carry differing PIAA model numbers. These are the 5164's. There is only one 5164's Some other 510's are the 5192's -- (AKA) Extreme White SMR Driving Lights. Non-fluted lens, and the PIAA Powersports 510 ATP Super White Lamp Kit, which uses a 35W bulb and has a pattern, basically, between fog and driving. The StarWhite 510's are only 35W as well. There are also several type of fog 510's. Excluding the chrome housing variants, the difference among them are found in the bulbs used (wattage), the reflectors and the lenses. The 5164's are 55W, and all PIAA 510 5164's are the same. These lamps (PIAA 510 5164) are called driving lights, but (with a spread of only 15deg.) are really pencil beams, in my opinion. Which is good, as most of the light is being used for distance. Also, I think the H3 55watt=85watt bulb is all hype BS. The color of the light produced may be less yellow, but 55W=55W . |

I'm considering these; what is the feeling on the 5192 vs 5164? Sounds like the 5164 are more narrow; are the 5192 broader? |

Yeah, I'd like to know if anyone has experience with these as well. I just sent Gary a check for his light bar - now I need lights to put on it! |

I have the 5164's. I use them mostly during daylight hours for conspicuity. With HID's on both the low and high beam, they don't make much of a difference at night (when both the low and high beam are lit simultaneously). I'm sure they would make a huge difference at night if running stock H7's. Tipsy |

I thought the difference between the 5164 and the 5192 is that the 64 have the fluted lens and the 92 are clear. IIRC, both are 55W vs. the 35W of the Star White and the ATP. . |

Well today I just pulled the trigger on the set of Extreme white driving lights p/n 5192. I will be getting them tomorrow and will post a report of how well they work hopefully by the weekend. |
