Next week I finally get to go pick up my Uly I ordered back in July. Before I drive 5 hours to go get it can anyone confirm it will fit in a short bed Ford Ranger with no problems.
Thanks

Not that I've tried to fit one in, but looking at the specs, if you have a 6' bed, and going straight in, you will have to leave the tailgate open, but all the weight should be in the bed of the truck.

Here's my math:
XB12X overall length 85"
Rear fender overhang (guess based on pics) 4"
Radius of tire (did the math, and lost a little for a safety margin.) 12"
That should put the center of the rear tire about 69" from the front of the bike. Put that in a 72" bed, and the weight should all be in the bed with a little tire and fender hanging over the tailgate.

I had my Uly in the back of my Ranger once. It fits with the tail gate down.
Use good straps.

The Uly will not fit in the back of any truck. Ride that puppy home

I believe there is something in the manual regarding break in rides. Think a 5 hour ride home would satisfy those requirements. If you live in the north just dress warm.

From the manual:

The First 500 Miles (800 Kilometers)

-------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------

The sound design, quality materials, and workmanship that are built into your new Buell motorcycle will give you optimum performance right from the start.

To allow your engine to wear in its critical parts, we recommend that you observe the riding rules provided below for the first 500 miles 800 kilometers . Adhering to these suggestions will help to assure good future durability and performance.

During the first 50 miles 80 kilometers of riding, keep the engine speed below 4000 RPM in any gear. Do not lug the engine by running or accelerating at very low RPM, or by running at high RPM longer than needed for shifting or passing.

Up to 500 miles 800 kilometers , vary the engine speed and avoid operating at any steady engine speed for long periods. Engine speed up to 5000 RPM in any gear is permissible.

Drive slowly and avoid fast starts at wide open throttle until the engine has warmed up.

Avoid lugging the engine by not running the engine at very low speeds in higher gears.

Avoid hard braking. New brakes need to be broken-in by moderate use for the first 200 miles 300 kilometers .

Ride it home. I rode mine home last year in the snow. It was only 20 miles, but it was snowing.

I would love to ride it home but there is no way to do it legally. Believe me I gave long consideration to bringing my plate from my other bike just to ride it home. But alas there is no way to get any kind of plate for it until I get it back here in Belgium for customs to look at it. Therefor truck bed it is.
And Thetable thanks for the math.

Ranger fit just like you said Thetabke all weight in bed with just the back of the tire requiring the tailgate to stay down.
