I got one the other day. works great with the tall buell screen. Can't believe the difference. The LD rides will be much easier now!!!!!

OK so really, what's the difference between this thing and the one that that guy makes across the pond?!?!? Not endorsing either one mind you. But I can say that I would rather add a bracket to my faster orange flyscreen than change it out for asphalt camo (black) just to get the adjustable option! Just sayin' ...

Madstads looks like it requires the aluminum flyscreen while Strada's uses the plastic screen.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Gotj has one. He's using the madstad windscreen and borrowed my Buell tall. I'll send him an email to post his experience.

Yep, I have the Madstad flyscreen, brackets and wind screen. They are all very well made and the brackets are ultra-easy to adjust; a 20-second job at the side of the road with no tools. Also, the brackets do not get out of adjustment on their own due to vibration, wind pressure, etc. I have tried the Madstad, stock, new Buell tall and ZG wind screens. I am sticking with the Madstad screen due to its significantly extra width over the others.

My preferred position of the windscreen is all the way down and all the way back. With the stock 06 seat, that minimizes the turbulence at the base of my helmet and take all of the pressure off of my upper torso. From the waist up, it feels like a real touring machine but, with no lower fairing, there is still wind on my legs.

The caveat in this review is that I have an 06 XT and I got the front end lower by dropping the triple clamps 1 1/4" thus effectively raising the windshield the same amount relative to the seat. If I were running the stock fork position, I believe the turbulence would be gone. I may install the internals for the XT forks (if that is possible) and put the forks back in their proper position and get rid of the remaining turbulence. Alternatively, I may move the brackets or cut the wind screen.

I'm 6' 1" with a 32" pants inseam so, as always, YMMV.

I went ahead and bought Strada's. It was the right price. I guess I could use some thumbscrews to sdjust it quicker.

I too picked up the Strada (palmer) brackets and have been using them for several months now.

I am still experimenting with the position that best fits my needs.

It is a little bit of a pain in the @ss to break out the tools to adjust the four screws, but once adjusted it "aint" going anywhere.

I am interested in this thread due to the Madstad windscreen. I thought it looked wider and Gotj just confirmed it.

I will keep my eyes on this thread for sure.

I have had both the first-gen Strada and MadStad brackets. Both work as advertised and are a great improvement over stock.

I switched to the MadStad due to my fly and wind screens being severely damaged in a sandstorm. I figgered that replacing the flyscreen would cost about the same as the MadStad's alum screen and bracket, less what I could sell the Palmer's for. I like the greater stability of the alum fly screen and the tool-less adjustment, but would not have made the change without the damage.

My current wind screen is the Zero Gravity in dark smoke. Looks and performs great.

I've used both and both are an improvement over stock for LD & cold wx riding. Madstad's is a little more stable due to the aluminum flyscreen and a lot easier to adjust in the middle of a day trip when the weather changes on you. Highly recommend both.

Bought a Madstad bracket about 3-4 weeks ago on my 08 Uly T and have been really pleased with it. Much better control of where the wind travels over or under my helmet - really nice now that it is cooler. One issue was that there was a loud rattle from about 1600 -2500 rpm - sounded like a woodpecker working on a downspout. Turns out it was the horn just touching the back of the aluminum flyscreen. Decided the stock horn was marginal anyway and have installed a Stebel airhorn. So far so good.
