Aha, it was Elliot in the Morning (local morning radio show). Sorry I missed it - I was out of town this weekend, and just got back this evening. Was at a wedding in Ithaca, NY. Unfortunately, I had to take the car - the weather was incredible, and the ride up and around the area would have been fantastic. Unfortunately, our friends who have bought heavily into the H-D image made their presence known at one massive Ithaca gorge/waterfall: I was walking back to my car from the overlook and heard the rumble of many American V-twins (I have a couple myself, and always perk up at the sound). Once off their bikes, they were equally loud, shouting, popping beers, and swigging from flasks. Bummed me out. I love my Harley (love my Buell more), but the whole stereotype just bummed me out. I could tell the other state park-goers were busy making their assumptions and adjusting their driving habits accordingly. Anyhoo - thanks for the post about the DC event...keep it up! I want to join some events. |
