cup holder, and a donut dispenser... No news yet, bike is on this next truck, I am supposed to be meeting with the district LEO rep from corporate once the bike hits the floor. I will be taking it to depts on my day off and showing it off. Looks like the bags made it as the OUTDOORSMAN set. Still waiting on the LED light kit. I will have part numbers and costs as soon as I can get them. If they are like the Harley cop parts, they will be spendy
Private security firms with a budget WE have one campus security team and a tribal 'police' force looking at them. Unveil should be fun. Got a big meet and greet planned for the bike. Yes there will be DONUTs ...
Any idea if the brackets are the same for the new bags? I would love a set of the sides for solo use daily, and keep the others for when the wife goes with me to over-pack.
Same brackets would be awesome, then you can get the big ass topcase with the big ass side bags. It would be enough storage to stuff a whole ground up whale on the bike
The new cob bags are more narrow and less cubic interior space than the standard H&B bags. I dont know the volume, but the pics definitely show a smaller profile.
The bags on the Police Uly are Hepco & Becker 30 Liter Junior bags. H&B have been making them for some time, now. My wife's 2005 Moto Guzzi Breva had a set, and when we sold the bike, we kept the bags. They now live happily on her Lightning Long.
If you look at the photos of the police bags the mounting latch is on the back, not front like XB12X. I don't the police bags will fit on the 12X mounts.
Court- Cityxslicker's been trying to get the part numbers for the mount and emergencylights for the police Uly. The thought is these could be modified/adapted for use as semi-factory auxiliary lights for street bikes.
If you're considering using the Uly Emergency Strobe Lighting (side / front markers) with associated strobe effect. A small comment on using EMS/LEO lighting as a "civilian." At least in VA, strobes of any kind facing the front are taboo. Rear facing OK, side facing, that would OK too as long as they don't get misinterpreted by LEO as simulating an emergency vehicle.
Now for a disclaimer, it seems construction crews get away with all of the above since their strobe lighting is deemed "safety equipment".
Personally I use four 3-way HyperLites facing rear/slightly canted outward on the underside of my top case. Been using them daily for about two weeks in both urban, rural, and slab traffic. Appears to have the effect that I wanted. That was to alert vehicles, in particular trucks and SUVs, of my intentions to change lanes. Once I get the pics sized properly I'll post.
I did consider using cyclegadgets' flexible version of HyperLites for the hand guards, but after tipping the bike twice while stopped on a slopped corner, I'm forgoing that idea and instead using them on the side mirrors...
Spops- I don't think anyone was talking about using the actual emergency lights with strobe effect, just the factory-made light bar and possibly the light housings if clear lenses can be found for them.

That's what I've always "hidden" under with my car. I have wig-wag headlights, Whelan strobes in all the exterior lights and the wig-wag brake/backup lights. I get grabbed about twice a year and have to cliam "accidently hit switch" and point to the hard hat.
On a motorcycle I carry the letter from the feds that authorizes headlight modulation. That's another one they take a dim (headlight term) view of.
The classic "cop bike" tale was the time I was riding the Buell Enforcer and leading demos at Daytona. Generally the local constabularly would kinda play along with the bikes that said "POLICE" and had the red/blue lights as long as we never turned the lights on.
Then apparently someone in Daytona was coming off a bad day in their law enforcement career and things go ugly. We settled it bu duct taping over the wording and the lights but it was a tad tense.
The bracketry on the XP could, in my thinking, prove useful and a popular accesory.
I'll buy it as soon as it's adapted with or adaptable for clear lights. I'm a big fan of using something that's purpose-built for the bike by engineers and a factory rather than trying to cobble something together myself. I'm a history major; I failed out of aeronautical engineering in my younger, drunker days... I don't need to be building bike parts.

It seems like an utterly obvious addition to the accessories catalog now that it's already designed and in production. With a little more work, they could offer a complete auxiliary light set up which a lot of Uly owners have been begging for since the bike was introduced.

I agree.
Wanna have some fun?
It would also work fabulously on the Ducati Hypermotard.
You start with Ducati and see how soon you can get someone to consider adding it to the accessories catalog . . .or even talk to you.
I'll undertake the same with Buell and we'll compare notes.
