I'm leaving for Sturgis on Wednesday the 6th. Riding the ULY. Probably with a buddy I used to work with but if not then I'll be going anyways. Camping at Dalton Lake http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=44.230122,-103.4758 7&z=15&t=h&hl=en. Anybody else making the trip? Before a bunch of you guys weigh in about the Harley crowd, you've got to realize that there is a whole lot going on in the Black Hills during the Black Hills Classic. Buell is at the Rapid City Auditorium with all their bikes for demo'ing. I'm especially keen on riding that 1125CR, and they'd better have it there. Also the riding in the Black Hills is just awesome. |

Went there last year. Find the vendor near Main Street selling the gigustic turkey legs and pork chops. Best 20oz chop I've ever had. I noticed there were fewer freaks and more t-shirt shops than when I went in '95. Still fun though. I got to ride stuff from Victory, Kawasaki and Yamaha too. The HD/Buell display in Rapid City is huge. |

My wife and I are going this year. I think this is my 9th or 10th trip. Leaving from Seattle but taking the truck and camper with the Road King on a trailer. I have found I prefer having a nice bed to go home to after a long day of riding/partying/shopping and site seeing. Sturgis has always provided a great time. So much to see and do. Staying at Eagle Landing this year, first time for that campground. Would like to bring the Uly too but sadly only room for one bike on the old trailer. There are many dirt roads to be explored in the area. Maybe next time. Jim |

My wife and I are riding along with my Bro in law. We're riding the road king. I'd love to take the uly but we're taking the RK. We're leaving knoxville TN where my bro lives on Friday. We plan to be in Sturgis by Sunday. We're staying at the Broken Spoke. We stayed there last year. This will be my 5th trip and 3rd ride out from the Charlotte NC area. We also plan to visit yellowstone for a few days after the sturgis rally. Have fun, i'll be looking for your uly. |

Give me a holler if any of you all see me on the ULY. Won't really be in Sturgis/Rapid City until Thursday though. Probably be around until Saturday. My favorite things are demo's and riding in the Black Hills. I do some of my eating at the Dakota Mart in Sturgis. |

I bought an '07 Uly a month ago - and will be finally picking it up in Deadwood during the Rally (will be there for 9 days - my 18th in a row) Can't wait to get the bike! (Deadwood is about 14 miles from Sturgis) |

Well when your done checking out the latest fashions in assless chaps, you can check out some real nice twisties, south of Mt. Rushmore.
We swung through there on our way home from Homecoming this year. check out some of these roads: HWY 16a from Keystone down to HWY 36.
This road curved around above itself:
just watch out for the wildlife:
Don't feed the buffalo
We heard that if you go NORTH on 16A, when you go through these little tunnels you well see Mt. Rushmore through it. Wish we had known this as we headed south from Rushmore and missed it.
There are certainly some Beulltiful roads out there! Ride safe, & enjoy yourselves! |

I like the gravel that goes up through spearfish canyon after the road turns a sharp 90. Go past the buildings and keep going up the gravel. |
