Resident lurker here and nube to the Buell world. Well I finally took the plunge yesterday. After much debate with myself and compairson between 3 different bike's I decided on an 08 Uly. I definitely made the right decision on that one. I picked the bike up in Ames Iowa and rode it back to Minneapolis via the country rodes of IA/MN. I come from riding a 97 Suzuki TL1000S. I did all of my touring, commuting etc. on that bike. I gotta tell ya the Uly is a great bike to put away some serious miles! Now its time to personilize it. Is there a rear fender eliminater for the Uly's? How do the drummer pipes sound? I dont want anything too obnoxius just a nice rumble. I've read some stuff about the Tuono mirror's, are they worth it? Enough for now, just wanted to introduce my self is all. cheers! |

Welcome! You'll love the Uly. Insofar as the Drummer...I love the sound but I'm the third owner of this particular muffler because the previous two owners thought it was too loud. I always ride with ear plugs and on the rare occasion I don't have a clean pair handy, I'd have to agree...it's too loud to comfortably tour without ear plugs. But, with ear plugs, I'm a happy camper I happen to like the stock "lollipop" mirrors and have no trouble viewing the road behind me though them. There's no commercially available fender eliminator that I'm aware of, but Treadmarks designed one of his own. Read about it here. Tipsy |

I have the drummer on my City-x. I just finished a 7500 mile tour from NJ to The four corners area. All on a naked sport-bike. Check out the ride report on Tale Section. |

Good choice by picking the mighty Ulysses. The more miles I put on mine the more I love it. I run a stock exhaust, but I do have the Tuonno mirrors. I like them. Seems to be less blurry, and I can see behind me instead of just seeing my arms. Not too expensive, easy to install, and looks better(in my opinion). Ride it hard, and ride it often. |

The Tuono mirrors are definitely worth. I just put on a pair I ordered from American Sports Bike - reduced vibration, better vision, very solid design and build, and looks sharp. |

Another thumbs up for the Tuono mirrors. Less blurry, more vision. They also look nice. |
