Was doing about 65 when the engine went to idle and the bike started losing speed. Coasted over to the side of the road and pushed the bike into a Shell parking lot. Bike idles anemically and dies when you give it throttle. Then it will turn over but not restart for a while. I took a quick look under the airbox cover and nothing seems to be out of place. AAA -> Faribault Buell for the wizards of warranty work to take a look. |

Assuming you're not out of gas, or got gas with water in it like my wife did last week, it sounds like a bad battery, 77 connector or voltage regulator to me. When the voltage drops the bike won't run properly, if at all. Let it sit a moment and the battery recovers a little charge maybe. Easy enough to check, right? Do a search on here for that famous connector-seems like it overheats or shorts out or something IIRC. good luck doc |

Not out of gas. The bike sleeps on a trickle charger when I'm not riding (hadn't been out for about a week), and so the battery was topped off nicely when I left home. VR failure, possibly... Anyway it's on its way to the dealer. I hope this doesn't take so long that it ruins the homecoming trip. I suppose I could ride it on my X1. |

Not only was my VR out, but the tech also said that the #77 connector looked like it had some arching that also could cause the problem. Got new VR, now I think I will fix up the connector because the bike is out of warrenty. |

Rays-nice work on that guide. I just printed it up so that I can have it right there with the bike, and check mine out thoroughly. Thanks! doc |

So I heard from the shop today. They said they did a TPS reset and replaced fouled plugs and that the bike runs fine now. Hmmm. Oh, they also aren't a Buell dealer anymore. Fortunately they said they were going to look into getting it covered by warranty. |

By the way, does anyone have a number for Buell CS? I may need to call them. |
