I just installed the 2" ROX risers on my 06 Uly last night. My throttle cable and brake lines are too short IMO. The brake line definitely narrows my adjustability options. Anyone have tips? Can I get longer cables and brake lines? Thanks, Andrejs |

I loosened the cable from cable clamp behind the headlight, which gave considerably more play. I can't remember if I cable tied it to anything else or not. I didn't require any adjustment to the throttle cable. |

I have the Rox and felt the same once I installed them. I have them as far back as they can go,I have Racoon/ T Rex arms. For the throttle cables I rotated the start/stop switch housing until I had enough slack to turn full right and left without the cable binding. Check under the fly screen and see if you have any wires in the way that could give you more slack. I found the PIAA light wires I installed blinding up in the steer tube area and I gave me a bit more slack. As for the brake line I took the top clamp behind the fly screen off. I zip tied it to the fork. Just make sure that at full travel you still have just a bit of slack left. I jacked the bike to get all the weight off the front wheel and had about 1/8 slack off the fork tube. Hope this helps. |

Andrejs2112 It was more a pain in the butt for me. I took the upper front brake line clamp off. (gave the slack needed.) I took the throttle cables out of the plastic thing that holds them on the front of the head tube (dunno the motorbike name...come from cycles) and re-routed them behind the handle bars in front of the air cleaner housing. I had to take em out of the throttle tube (right grip) and it took me a couple of tries to put em back in. I took a length of solid wire (12 inches or so) and made a piece that resembles the wire that holds the clutch cable in place in front of the motor. I looped this through the hole in the left ROX Riser and around the throttle cables. The wire holds the cable in place allowing it to move and stops it from binding when you go from lock to lock. Plus it gives the slack you need to use it like normal. Looks a bit ugly but works.(up from where they exit on the frame and across to the right side handle bars. I got my method from a fella here who made the throttle cable wire thingy holder. It works. Problem for me is I made bars so low that filling the tank is awkward. '08 Uly; Brake line no problem once the small clamp attached to the upper tree was removed. Throttle cables; on the advice of others, I rerouted them behind the tree. To do this, I removed the cables at the throttle-body end. This seemed easier than disconnecting them from the grip-end. I'm out of the country at the moment (some gorgeous women here in Almaty, Kazakhstan ) and don't have any pictures of the rerouted cables with me, but I can post some next week once I'm back in the states. Hi Andre, I made up some throttle cable guides that allow you to use the stock cables with plenty of clearance. Do a search using my username to see if you can find my past posts on the subject. If it looks like it will work for you, send me a PM. I think I still have a few laying around and can send you one. My bike is an '08 and the forks would pinch the cables before I added this guide. Over 15K miles with no cable issues. C-ya mike |

Hi Andre, I last posted on this here on 12-07-07. If you scroll up the thread a few posts, you can see that member "Gattlinberger" pasted my routing info from another forum on 12-06-07. Hope this helps. mike |

The ROX risers are a perfect match for the Uly. Run the throttle cables on the left side, between the top tree and the dash. They will fit perfectly in the space between the dash mounting bolts right under the "U" in the uly logo on the dash. Like Gotj mentioned, just remove the right brake hose clamp, behind the cowl. The ROX risers work great with the ohheight trees too! http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/277042.html |
