My engine check light came on my uly. I stopped and called the dealer who told me to get it checked at a Harley Dealer. Since the closest Buell dealer is about 3 hours away. Well I restarted my bike two blocks and the check engine light when out. Should I be worried? The bike has been a little fussy this and yesterday morning but I figured it was a combo of the cold and the last place I got gas from. |

Look up how to read the codes from the knowledge vault. All you have to do is short two pins on that data port and turn it on. The engine light will flash out a two digit code. |

I'm betting it's that blasted exhaust actuator... Your symptoms sound way too similar to mine. Wayne |

Do you monitor your voltage? I got the light one day and the next time I started the bike the light was not on...for about 5 miles...then the light came back on and my VR failed. |

I had the chin off my exhaust, because I recently changed oil and wanted to make sure the filter sealed. I had to plug a battery charger into my bike a few weeks ago. The light is not on now so I'm guessing it's not holding a code an more. Thanks all! |

I'd bet that if you have had to charge the battery that your stator or vr may need to be checked. |

It will remember the last error code even if the light is not still on. |

I'll have to find out how much the HD store will charge me to check it. The bike is under warranty. |
