Nice pipes, who did coating on them? How much $$ did it run and how long did they have them?

Whose pipe do you have?

Are those Tour-A-Tech guards?
We are in need of some hefty guards for our specially prepared XB12TT that we are running in this years Pikes Peak International Hillclimb; a first ever Buell entry. Tire & tune testing on the mountain Sat & Sunday morning (5:30am - first bikes out) resulted in some pretty hefty dings in the oil filter.

Go to the Racing category, and click on the Road Race thread to follow what we are doing.

Not my bike, but looking at the pics they look like Micron exhaust and the Touratech guards.

I'd love to know more about the headlights...

JJ,
Al at American Sport Bike did the silver ceramic coating on the micron serpent system. I forget exactly how much, but it was inline with most other vendors for direct exchange. They have been on about a year at a little over 12k miles. They went on the same time as the 1250cc kit and Stage 1 ported heads from NRHS. The micron serpent does a fair job of protecting the K&N oil filter. TT also makes a filter protection guard, not sure it would fit my modified setup tho.

The guards are Tour-a-Techs, that I cut and reinforced to bolt directly to the welded on flanges on the micron. Much stronger than the factory type chin fairing adapter brackets that came with the micron. Picked up almost 2" in ground clearance as well due the the much thinner profile of the micron. Makes for a good lifting point with a floor jack too.

I have several hundred miles of gravel roads on this setup, quite a bit at high speed 80+ mph. I had some stress cracks forming on the forward bashplate after about 10k miles. TT did pretty good in replacing it.
