new 07 has a free side and top case offer, is it worth against a new 08 if the price of the bikes are the same? of the upgrades on 08 are worth the price of new cases? |

unless you want the better gas mileage of the 07, more money in your pocket, and free cases. |

I bought an 07 a month ago, and looked at the 08 saturday for my girl... the sales guy said there are differences, more than just seat height and bags.. i too think ill research it more.. he seemed to think that the 08 was designed for less occassional offroad and more for street/touring. Heated grips, bags, and seat height are the differences just off the top of my head.. I seemed to have read the forks may be different but dont quote me on that. oh yeah, i picked up my hardshell cases from the dealer saturday, free of charge due to the buell promotion, easy to install and cant beat the price, free! http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Article_Page.aspx?Ar ticleID=6153 from article above.. While the luggage and four-inch taller windscreen (optional accessories on the original Ulysses) come standard, another big change to the XT is the suspension, with a 43mm fork and a revamped rear monoshock replacing the XB12X's 47mm unit. The new Ulysses XB12XT Showa units are tuned for on-road use only, with travel reduced 1.59 inches up front and 1.46 out back. The stiffer suspension package features retuned fork damping and new triple rate springs, with the rear monoshock utilizing a new compression bumper to cushion bottoming force. The new units also reduce seat height to 30.7 inches, a crucial feat resolving a common complaint from the standard Ulysses, which features a 31.8-inch perch in current form and 33.1-inch figure back in its original '06 incarnation. Complementing the on-road-only design are the same six-spoke cast aluminum wheels adorning the rest of the XB lineup. The XT is equipped with high-mileage touring Pirelli Diablo Strada tires. |

saw a review that stated the rims are 1 lb liter on the xt than on the x also. due to no off road stuff. |

Yes - the XT has the "standard" XB rims, no weld-in strength-strip. |

Hello all I'm also trying to decide between an 07& 08. Would there be any issues with performance mods(muffler, air filter, ecm?) Sorry if this has already been covered. Thanks- Dawg |
