Skully I'm interested in your throttle lock, looks like a clean, light design. Let me know when it's available. Thanks |

Skully I'm following this thread. Theres a chance I'll end up riding out for Homecoming. To HE!! with allowable vacation. I sure as heck can use a throttle lock and would much rather give YOU the money than anybody! |

I am "in" for one also. Hope they will be ready by spring when I can finally get the bike out on the road again, after all this snow in northern Minnesota. |

How do throttle locks work with OEM heated grips? Are there some styles that work best or do not work at all? |

This might not appeal to some, but 40,000 miles ago I simply unhooked the spring down by the throttle body...much lighter throttle! And yes, it still closes if you let go. That obviated my need for a throttle lock or cruise control. |

"...That obviated my need for a throttle lock or cruise control". Yes, yes, Doctor, obviously it obviated your need for a throttle lock. Of course, of course, I can see it all quite clearly now. . |

Dr G, Mine hardly closes with the spring. Have you had any trouble with sticky cables? |

I've been using the CAT 8M-4991 O-ring with success. You'll need a small gap to make it work. The gap between the HVMP bar end weight and the grip works well. Roll it into the gap & the added friction holds the throttle open. Very easy to close the throttle even with the added friction. Roll it out of the gap to disengage. For about $3.00 it's hard to beat!

Dr G, Mine hardly closes with the spring. Have you had any trouble with sticky cables? It will only close when the engine is running. The vibration of the engine acts somewhat like a "vibratory parts feeder." And it takes a few seconds; it closes in a "dignified" manner. ...and "obviate" - verb t., to remove (a need or difficulty) Youse guys need to get out more... |
