I'm a Uly Noob, so not a whole lot of experience, but I just installed the PIAA 912 Fog lights on my homemade utility bar (waiting on Gme's light bracket). I installed the yellow/amber H3 bulbs as well, for more daytime visibility. What a difference. I can see at night now. An HID in the high-beam might be nice.

The Kisan pathBlazer and Tuonno mirrors are on the way.

Also, I picked up, and installed, the '06 seat on my '07 today. Works great for my 34" inseam.

Took it around the block to try out the lights just as the snow started falling...hmmmm.

Let the winter farklin' begin!

.

Howdy,
For me I think the Remus exhaust is the first and best bit of kit I bought.
It sounds how it should now and to me that's what bikes are all about.

Happy farklin' now,y'hear.

Lights were probably the best farkle I did.

I ceramic coated the exhaust, that was also money well spent. It cost me $60 and gets rid of the rust problem Uly muffler have.

I would like to ceramic coat the headers as well, but getting them off the bike intimidated me. Some day I'll do that.

I filled the tank with Sunoco Ultra.
I pulled the exhaust and sent it to Jet-Hot and had it ceramic coated. 13K later, it still looks good.
The best farkle on the bike is the bazootie I put on it. Now I can see the odometer/tripmeter/clock.

I havent done too many mods yet, but those Tuonno mirrors made a HUGE difference. Also love the A.S.B. pegs. I'll probably go for a race kit next.

Here is my personal Top 10 list:

10. Touratech Hand Guard Extensions for added weather protection.
9. Aprilla Tuono Mirrors just because they look cool (a little less vibration too).
8. Autocom intercom system for when riding 2-up (although sometimes my wife would rather just enjoy the ride).
7. Zero Gravity Windshield which looks great and works perfect for me.
6. PIAA aux lights controlled by an AutoSwitch because when it comes to light...too much is never enough.
5. Warm-N-Safe heater jacket liner with Heat-Troller for a perfect core temp year round.
4. Kaoko throttle control bar ends provides perfect form and function, and is invaluable on long trips.
3. OEM grip heaters (formally Polly heaters) because some like it hot!
2. Garmin Zumo 550 plus GXM 30 for XM radio because I get lost less, but when I do the radio makes it more enjoyable.

and the number one piece of equipment I bought for the Uly is...

1. My Olympia riding gear. The most expensive riding gear still costs less than the cheapest hospital stay!

I swore I'd keep this one stock. So far, I've only added a Buell tank bag but it REALLY cleans up the wiring for the Gerbings. With all the extra riding I'll get in this winter a new exhaust might be a "necessity". Oh, and the pics I see of the Ulys with the really cool aux lighting really look GOOD too. Did I say I swore? Maybe I just "suggested"

Lights, lights, lights....I put two xenon h7 bulbs in from American Sport Bike, did the 'both lights on with high beams' mod, and got a 15$ halogen light kit from autozone that i wired into the accessory plug under the seat and mounted using 2$ 'L' brackets from lowes. Total cash layout? about 110$. But now I see EVERYTHING. Priceless. Also, added a Stebel air horn. That sucker's LOUD. I will be SEEN and HEARD.

Zumo 550. I have found some really fun roads with it. Some really close to where I live. So it makes owning the bike more fun. It make me more fun!

I have a 2006 so changing to the P Sync's was a good move I think. I feel more confident on them.

Collett Communicator let's me talk to me buds and tell them I'm hungry and we need to stop. Well the the Collett is more of an helmet accessory really as doesn't connect to the bike. Never mind that one.

Micron Exhaust system and the Remapped ECM. More grunt and scares small furry animals off the road further away.

In 24 months of ownership:

Painted the screen black and peeled some stickers off.

Paint the muffler when it gets rusty.

All I've done to it....All I want to do to it.
Never had another bike like that.

I think my best modification was painting the chin spoiler to match the Barricade orange. Others seem to think so too as they keep "stealing" mine. It really completes the look of the bike and balances the color without doing too much.

I am also very pleased with my 'bazootie'. Thanks again for that Crusty!

Now I have polly heaters in the bars and my heated jacket along with my B.A.W., modified air box, two seats, triple tail pad, and the three HB bags that I installed reflector tape on.

Not a ULy, but y'all know I ride it like one.
Best on there now. Caribou Cases and bag mounts. Rugged and large capacity. Saved my bacon a couple of times

MT-60s full chunky knobbies... going on this week.
Touratech exhaust bashplate (wonder why I needed that?) ordered today
Planning HID light upgrades when tax money comes in.

Vern,
I do't recall seeing a picture of that -- is it shown somewhere ? I checked your profile in case -- is that picture taken at Chimney Rock ?

Hijack off

Check on the thread Orangelius put up about the B.A.W. on BBD. He has pictures there of his and mine. A while back M2nc posted a picture of his. At this time me and my 'puter are still suffering without picture posting. Something that I will fix soon.

That picture was on top of Grandfather Mountain off the Blue Ridge Parkway NC. Beautiful place.

I have not done much, but my favorite is one of those things that you'll never know for sure was ever really necessary - my Touratech kickstand foot.

I do know that it looks bad-ass and that my Uly didn't fall over even when it sat out overnight during torrential downpours. (ah camping!)

LED voltage indicator so you can see when alternator or voltage regulator are being taxed or failing long before becoming stranded.

Here are my Avon Distanzia tires, only a 160mm rear but it went on without having to spread it, popped on with air and so far, good streetable ride. I loved the Pirelli Synch's although 6,000 miles was a little light. Tomorrow we go off-road, where I expect these to shine.

Above are the before and after rear tires
below are the after and before front tires

Voltage indicators:
You can see the (red 8-10v; yellow 10-12v; green 12-14) volts LEDs lit on my dash here, 14+ go red. It auto senses night so they dim.

I have these on all my bikes, cheap insurance.
IMHO not too gawdy, excuse me, farkle, either.

piaa520 spots mounted to a home made bar that light up stright aways like daylight, i'm contemplating a smaller set to act as cornering lights on the tight stuff.(i'll have to do the math to see if the charging sys will handle this, that volt indcator may be on the way also)
these are also hooked in w/an aux horn to light up when the horn button is depressed.
other additions
tank bag
side bags (have top but never installed)
zumo 550
heated grips(the cheap tape ones, work great
pro grips
vista cruise
steering stablizer (from storz don't like it v/hard to reach adjuster
bar end weights
piaa super white low beam
buell tall w/s
07 stock seat,i still swap out the stock 06 seat for looong rides as i find it more comfortable
adjustable shorty clutch lever
touratech hand gaurd extentions on the way
signed by eric

#1 on the list is the lighting!
