I heard that you can change the primary gearing on the ULY to reduce the gearing and raise the RPMs at slow speeds. Is this difficult? Where do I get the kit?

You swap the primary chain and sprocket from an XB9. American Sport Bike sells a kit: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/A17150.html

<$200 (plus shipping). Changing the primary's not too difficult, the hardest part is torquing the crankshaft nut to ~240 foot-pounds when you put it back together. Most home mechanic variety torque wrenches don't go that high, but if you can find a rental place or an auto parts store that loans tools, they can probably fix you up.
