I have an 07 Uly and I love the upgrades to on the 08. Is it a waste to trade up to the 08?
No TPS adjustments
Better Oil sump cooling system
Better steering lock
Smoother low RPM

These seam like great upgrades.

I would wait till any bugs that may pop up, pop up and are taken care of. I like the upgrades also but never buy a first model year, at least not till the end of the year. I would think hard about it because you are going to take a beating on your 07. The thing I like the most about the 08 is the steering lock. I do plan on changing it at some point, I believe it will cost around a grand. TPS is no big deal. ECMSpy is free and the cable costs about 30 bucks to build.

TPS is a 10 minute home adjustment
They say a pipe, air box mod, and a new map solves the low RPM jitters.
Lean the bike to the left, slide your butt to the right fixes the steering lock.
But for the new oil pump... dont know what to say maybe the new one will retrofit.

Thanks for the good advice. Where can I get the cable for the TPS reset? I found the ECMSPY software. I just want my low RPMs to be smoother when I am in commute traffic.

Buell would probably come out with a Rotax Uly in 09 anyway causing me more anxiety.

I don't know about the airbox or new map and pipe. I am installing an xb9 primary to help my low speed control.

Have all that, on my '06; doesn't help.

For all that is said about oil pumps; anyone had one fail? I have yet to read (anywhere) about oil delivery related engine failures. I spoke to Al @ American Sport Bike about oil pumps. He recommended inspecting (and replacing-if needed) the oil pump drive gears around 20k miles.
