My 616 experiences were similar to Thesmaz. I'm 6'0 weigh 185 and don't do much highway riding at all. The rear was done at 4300 miles. It was bald in the center and badly cupped the rest of the way out. I've never seen a tire do that on the rear before. I changed the front because it never felt settled. I also had strange handling issues that I thought were tire related. I switched to the Scorpion rear and MT-60 front. The 616 was definitely better off pavement and in the wet than the Scorpion rear. It's seems very slick to me except on hot perfect asphalt. I just found out recently that my rear swingarm is bent so maybe that is why my 616 got chewed up in such an odd way and my Scorpion feels slick. I really like the MT-60 up front. Handles great on road and has good bite in the sand where I live. Wish I could find a better mate for the rear as the MT-60 rear just doesn't last long enough. |

I'm a Pirelli Diablo Strada fan. I've had really good luck with them and I'm no lightweight either (6'5" 235lbs). I hammer the bike pretty hard, and they hold up pretty good.
I figure I'm going to go through two rears to a front. |

Ft_b, by the way did you get the brakes fixed yet?
What brakes? I have found that touring on a long trip I hardly ever use the brakes. A few hundred miles on the interstate will clean up the rotor and pads on the stock front brakes and make the grabby pulsating go away. It works the same as if I clean them up with brake cleaner and a scotch brite pad. Good for another 300 miles. They still have little appreciable wear.
Mebby I'll replace them when I do the fork oil and re-torque the steering head bearings again. |

10K out of 616s?.....it would take me four sets to get that many miles of of those Dunsloppers. The Avon Storms have given me the most mileage...its all how you ride...The new Michelin Pilot Road 2 might be a good tire to try ...its a Dual Compound tire that is cut like a sport bike tire. |

This is why I'm interested in these tires. I do more sport touring/corner bashing than anything else on the Uly and want a tires that has this capability. I'm going to the big Moto show in Paris (France) in a couple of weeks and will spend some time talking to the Michelin guys. |
